Definite AOTY contender in my book. Seen them live twice this year and as exhilarating as ever. Such a great band.
Happy to see Girl Band getting a good bit of coverage here.
Honestly, what is Stereogum's problem with Mac Demarco?
Not one mention of Owen Pallett? Seriously, guys.
I understand that Yeezus is pretty great, challenging and uncompromising music. But album of the year, particularly this year, really? The lyrics are just too weak for it to hold that title for me. Props for Deafheaven's deservedly high ranking, though.
Yeah, you fucking nailed it man.
Not loving the majority of it, but Giorgio by Moroder is tops.
Hahaha shit. I scanned down the list far too fast clearly and must have missed it. Sincerest apologies Stereogum. Worst thing is that I actually think its placing is around about right.
Rather unoriginal but it has to be Revolver. Such a perfect mix between gorgeous pop melodies and innovative experimentation. Genius.
Democrats do stand for Liberalism: Modern Liberalism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_liberalism_in_the_United_States). Liberalism is such a broad term though, that encompasses so many conflicting ideologies (neo-liberalism vs. social liberalism), that it's use today in any political discourse is simply an exercise in futility. Also, The Monitor is such a great album.
Surely it must only be a matter of time until they are MASSIVE.
That albums not getting enough love. 100% gonna be my soundtrack to this summer (along with Japandroids obviously.)
Honeycomb aint even on Centiped hz! I'm convinced both of these records will be mind blowing.
No coverage of the breathtaking Gary Barlow/Cheryl Cole duet? This site is now off of my bookmarks.
The absence of The Macabees and Django Django shows how much British bands are ignored on American indie sites.
