1. Bird Flu 2. Pull Up The People 3. XR2 4. Come Walk With Me 5. Galang 6. Sunshowers 7. Tell Me Why 8. The World (Vicki Leekz MIxtape) 9. Teqkilla 10. Boyz
Right. Bird Flu is her most underrated jam I think. Agree that Jai Paul hands down killed every category in 2013. Jai Paul is 2013 2014 & 2015 all at once. Where Ratatat at ? Jai is giving me the Ratatat, Daft & Das Racist I've been craving. Pretty much Jai fever all around.
Jai Paul has it all.
el goodo NAILED it. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm disappointed or if this is a progression from this new wave of off kilter, non hook riffing post "Beez In The Trap" era. I love M.I.A to pieces and I'm totally down with her since Arular but in my musical fantasy pairings, I wish she would ring up Frank Nitt, Exile, Richard X, DJ Mackey, Tendai Maraire of Shabazz Palaces, 9th Wonder, Hudson Mohawke, Jai Paul- any 1 of those people would deliver the M.I.A sound I've been craving and envisioning bringing out the best in her work. She has tremendous talent- but beat production especially these days is a slippery critical slope due to the enormity of selection that is out there. My Rick Rubin advice to her would be to ring any 1 of these folks up and give 1 of them a shot. I would put ALL my money on any 1 of these folks turning M.I.A out in the studio PROPER.
"Black & "Elderly Woman" should be on here somewhere. VItalogy is their dopest most underrated record.
Metallica stole their name from a fellow Bay Area band. There is documented proof as the band had flyers and show posters in the Bay Area. Theu changed the spelling to avoid being sued. No, the name didn't come from that book either- This band was in San Francisco in 1973 with that name. Look into it and you'll see.
"Alive" & "Television Rules The Nation/Cresendolls" but no "Something About Us", "Teachers", "High Life" or "Robot Rock" or "Face To Face" ? huh ?
At the time of it's release, I couldn't stop listening to this album. It has aged very well and sounds better than ever. 1 of the finest feathers in Gang Gang Dance's cap.
Always loved Cookie Mountain but always wondered why "I Was A Lover" wasn't a single and/or video. It felt like Interscope dropped the ball on properly promoting this album after "Wolf Like Me" was released. This album had more legs but Interscope is notorious for this type of misstep.
1. "Perfect From Now On" 2. "Built To Spill Caustic Resin" EP ( well aware this isn't an album- it's still the 2nd best release period.) 3. "There's Nothing Wrong With Love"
Spoon are a great band but I'll never understand how songs like "Stay Don't Go" • "Finer Feelings" • "Nobody Gets Me But You" & "Who Makes Your Money". All 4 of those songs were denied single treatment. Thats really the only thing about Spoon records I have bad to say, Their body of work is pretty solid. I especially like Brit's experimental side.
A$AP Rocky & Danny Brown recently guested on Kathy Griffin's talk show Kathy. It's a must see. Very funny.
"Maladjusted" should be here as well. How uneducated and uncultured on Morrissey could you be ?
No "Last Of The Famous International Playboys" ? Fuck right off.
"What Would Wolves Do" is brilliant and is top 10. Are these lists the personal top ten of the writer of the article or what the writer believes the top 10 to be as a whole for everyone ? They seem to be a personal top 10. After that New Order list, I have serious doubts about these stereogum top 10's....
No "Ghetto Musick" and no "Hootie Hoo" ?
"Everything's Gone Green" not on your list shows you know nothing about New Order. "Crystal" on here and no "Ceremony" ? Jesus, are you guys on crystal or the Warner Rhino payroll ?
