I was so excited by the intro with the SWV sample ("Rain on Me" is still a jam), and then it was a zzzzzzzzzz. "Teach Me A Lesson" is a standout by other than that, meh.
And yes, the Selena Gomez is a terrific and tightly constructed pop song.
"Pink + White" is produced by Pharrell with Beyonce on background vocals. Not sure if Jonny is involved in this one.
Best song off his new album, and maybe a contender for Best R&B Performance by anyone this year. His falsettos are so feather-like.
The riff in that awesome Power Bottom song just makes me think of Dirty Projectors Bitte-Orca-era. Always a plus in my book.
Man, I don't think there is enough compliment for how technically excellent Beyonce is as a singer. Incredible control, pitch, perfect techniques and amazing utilization of every register (upper, middle/mixed/lower). This is why she can always have enough lung power to sing the hell out of every song, even after much dancing.

Upvote for "1990X". I dare anyone to give a better vocal performance than that of Maxwell in this stunning single.
Quite sad with the omission of Jessy Lanza's incredible Oh No - which is the best R&B album of the year, by a mile.
Love the "Moody's Mood For Love" sample in "Moog For Love". Haven't heard that classic for a while.
This song absolutely kills. It is as good as "timmy's prayer" by Sampha, and thank God for all the comeback of R&B vocalists who can actually SING. I will not accept one more moment of whiny nasal sing-through-the-nose by the Weeknd or Drake anymore.
"timmy's prayer" is easily among Top 5 Best R&B/Soul tracks of the year. It is just phenomenal.
She's a force on the technical skill but I don't think so on her lyricism. Kinda lazy if you ask me. But yes on her sharp instinct with creating hook, and she's both terrific with singing and rapping. Everybody probably forgot how she made "NEED SOME LUV" on a Machinedrum beat way back then (as a tribute to Aaliyah), and it was so good.
No shame. True Love Waits punched me in the face and it was awesome.
James is absolutely phenomenal live. He and his band arranged the hits into some of the most banging songs out there. "CMYK" live was like Blawan and JB had a baby. Bumping like the hottest joint in town.
Oh wow, the song with Bon Iver is an awesome R&B slow jam sung by two of the most gorgeous falsettos in the business.
My panties have been snatched away.
I thought "Problem" is a fine song, but Ariana's voice is probably not the best match for it. She has a very agile voice that moves quick, but girl doesn't possess any weight so it makes less of an impact for me. Imagine someone like Amerie is given this. Ariana's best single is still "Baby I", not this one.
