Happy to go on record here and now to admit that I too honest-to-goodness cried when Vincent lays next to Jack - Jack smiles, the plane passes over - it's all coming to an end - the music - it just got me - and any and all pre conceived notions at not getting outwardly emotional over a TV show just fell by the wayside - I'm actually proud I cried - proud I felt that I'd just been honestly entertained and intrigued for 6 years by something so ambitious yet so comfortingly understandable despite it all.
Okay, I'll admit it, I was never 'not' going to listen, and so I did, by clicking the obligatory small forward arrow button for PLAY - and I liked what I heard - A LOT - and then it seemed to just keep looping on forever and when I finally clicked that button again to pause, it did the whole 'sound of the needle lifting up off the record' thing and I instinctively dragged the cursor up to said vinyl record and...lo and behold, it's interactive!!! Damn you Arcade Fire, you've done it again - always giving us these completely awesome little web 2.0 nuggets with your interactive videos and what not - this is completely cool - already working on my scratches and remixes to the 6 second version of The Suburbs - nice job! Oh, and looking forward to all the rest!
I've come to basically expect that anything Damon Albarn does musically is going to make me literally smile while listening - this guy is an absolute conduit for such simple and beautiful melody - the kinds you've never heard before, but, like rimbimhoot said above, so comfortingly familiar.
I'd like to think some good has come out of his extended absence from the airwaves and that would certainly have to be his beard and/or facial hair - last seen around the time of the writer's strike - I think that's Conan's natural inclination anyhow!
I'm trying to decipher some kind of hidden message in the CAPS ONLY portion of your post. I DON'T TO SOUND WHY ANIMALS ALWAYS SO FUCKIN FAR. I know its in there somewhere! Cat-wise, one of mine does the 'step step' routine shown above...though it's on our throw blankets and he nurses on them while doing it.
It's like Blur's clip for The Universal meets The Squid & The Whale meets that ping pong movie with Christopher Walken...but, you know, way more RZA - quite enjoyable!
The irony of the situation was not lost on Wally Washboard - he did what any fun-loving kid down at the shore for summer would have - let it all hang out.

I'd feel so ironic in that situation too!
Hoping The Strokes make it on this year's list - they did say festival appearances this year and no Coachella, no Pitchfork (yet at least) so there's hope!
I should point out the aforementioned and seen above picture was pulled directly from the 'Worst Movie of All Time' entry in this here Videogum for none other than The Last Kiss - credit where credit, or in this case...shame...is due.
You have to understand... there's a certain primal attraction at work when in the presence of Vaughn... something he capitalizes on...and by 'on' I mean his nsfw polar bear-skin rug. Photobucket
Getting to know Aubrey Plaza's (gay or bi, not sure which) boyfriends on Parks & Rec makes me feel like they'd fit in nicely commenting on Videogum posts - though of course, I'd take the actual earnestness of Andy's double-handed high-fives over the sarcastic type any day of the week.
Not going to lie...I wasn't completely floored by the episode overall, but then again, I'm thinking I didn't have to be to ultimately enjoy it. A few things though: Ending the 8PM recap with Juliette smashing the bomb is understandable. Immediately segwaying into "Previously on Lost" and showing us the same smashing of the bomb..a bit unnecessary when you consider about 2 minutes had elapsed. 3.) Showing us yet another replay of the bomb detonation was seriously approaching overkill. I agree that for every step forward, there were 3 steps back. The commercial breaks were frustrating in that it felt like they were spending a lot of time dwelling on certain scenes. To answer at least two of those questions - Boone briefly mentions to Locke on the plane that he "tried" to get Shannon to come back with him but no dice. I think this also explains why certain castaways (Walllllllllllttttt, Michael, Libby, Ana Lucia, Eko) may not have been seen. For some reason or another, they are perhaps still in Sydney in this parallel timeline. Also, I think Sun's 'No English' was to sell Jin out - she had originally wanted out of the marriage and her hesitation and then refusal to clear up the customs stuff was not minding selling Jin up the river. Yikes..I've already said too much. I'm excited to see where it all goes from here. Fave new character has to be Asian dude for sure though - he's wise, he's agile (that takedown!) and he's got a sharp tongue...which also happens to hate speaking in English too!
Of course they are, dum dum! I wanted to say 'silly' but, well, you know :)
kids photoshop the darndest things
Okay, I know Sayid did some pretty terrible things during his time with the Iraqi army and all, but still.......watching him plead in agony with a hot poker about to scald his skin is just too much sadness to look forward to!!!
Though CBS seems okay with airing the Tim Tebow holier-than-thou pro-life anti-abortion ad that some right-wing Christian group is fronting the money for - nice.
I haven't felt this way since Verbal Kint transformed into Keyser Soze - so major.
Giamatti was later spotted at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery gifting chalet Photobucket
A great cover, and startlingly clear evidence of just how incredible Dylan was/is - not that we needed anymore, but still. I hadn't listened to that song in a long while and hearing it through the Phoenix treatment immediately made me want to revisit the original.
"I hit the gym but I'd never hit you" quality
$50 says James Cameron declares himself King of the Jerks after this year's Oscars!
"awkward" "lovable idiot" wait! That reminds me of....oh yeah...Anthony Michael Hall in the 80's!
I'm hoping the Berlin University can amend that lecture to point out Mr. Argos' latest 'G I R L F R E N' nod to Avril would be much better suited to the man who coined that spelling a long time ago, Jonathan Richman - that's something that I understand.
Thanks, Gabe...because I either live under a rock or don't know any better, you've managed to singlehandedly wedge 'Miley Cyrus' between Miles Davis and Minor Threat on my alphabetized iPod artist list - things will never be the same.
Eh, the straining didn't last long, and it's part and parcel of the Britt Daniel singing method anyhow - I liked it. The false stop thankfully didn't make the entire audience start clapping before they started back up again and finished it off...in related Spoon news on the home front, I was at Target last night (that's normal, right?) and much to my surprise, Transference was given a front and center shelf space and selling for a thrifty $7.98! It made me feel bad though having known I had already down...ahem...yeah.
After Mad Men won...again...(yay!), I of course marveled at Christina Hendrick's...well...yeah..obvious attributes...while my missus fell in love yet again with Vincent Kartheiser's shaggy and unkempt appearance when he's not competing with Ken Cosgrove for Head of Accounts
'even if it is Vampire WEEK' is what I meant...oops!
This would make me happy any day of the week, but since it's Friday and all, well..that's just even better....and good on The Very Best for getting this out there, even if it is Vampire Weekend and there's a coattail or two to grab hold of...they make great music in their own right, and if takes a little Ezra cameo to help spread that word more, I'm all for it.
Community KILLED last night - the MASH bits, Pierce's ironic t-shirts and last but certainly not least - Senor Chang's faked-death over winter break and subsequent entrance complete with Senor Chang rap song...Jack Black cameo was ok, though Owen Wilson cameo at the end was an extra nice save...oh, and Parks & Rec was really good too! Truth be told, I watched both of these before work this morning via DVR because the tail-end of Mythbusters gave way to this 2-hour documentary on Discovery called '2 Weeks in Hell' about how the Army selects Green Berets and whoa -intense!
Wilco (The Album).......?
That was brilliant. Also, because I know it doesn't necessarily qualify as a viral vid with the homegrown attributes of so many of the fine inclusions here, but I'd like us all to not forget the contributions of Joaquin Phoenix's appearance on David Letterman way back in the beginning of 2009. Let us never forget. Photobucket
I'm politely upping the count to Top 101 and adding Elvis Perkins in Dearland's "Shampoo" firmly in at 101. There, I feel better now.
That is a GLARING omission. The fact that in only 6, 30 minute episodes, a show could be that hilarious and strangely profound for how awkwardly it ended is reason enough it should be on this list. However, perhaps the very fact it was only 6, 30 minute episodes long, and ran way back in some earlier part of 09 is also why I think people plum forgot...for shame!
Now there's a bittersweet symphony if I've ever seen one (for a handful on that list at least).
I'm looking forward to trying out the D.E.N.N.I.S. method of seduction this weekend - though anyhow have any idea on where I can purchase one of those handy voice-scramblers for the step where I'm tasked with calling the girl from a pay phone?
Highly agreed! It's been quality all the way through...thanks in large part to, of course, Paul Scheer - "Can I ask you why you're dressed like a Russian house DJ?" - "First of all, just so you know, this is the exact same thing Vin Diesel wore in XXX and he's the extreme James Bond."
