Your dad throws $20 mil to his misinformation spreading gf just because and you're waitressing?
Remember when CD's were $17.99, $18.99? This industry is next and the internet will be a much better place when they finally realize and accept it. While I don't download movies, I think a serious 'fuck off' is in order. They're so large and comfortable demanding exponentially increasing profits year after year that instead of adjusting to 1997 technology, they've got a fucking bill being passed around Congress that would wipe access or mention of sharing avenues on search engines and via ISPs that they don't approve of with the full backing of federal policing agencies. How about we put this on the list of things to worry about 32,692 spots behind corporate tax loopholes and, oh I don't know, child sex slavery? Fuck you both, Congress and MPAA.
Can you imagine the director trying to get him not to look his usual smug asshole? You're delivering a generic Christmas greeting, get over your delusional idea of yourself for 30 fucking seconds.
Just saw the worst commercial of the year and it's related to these things. Walmart, scene: two sisters, one older teaching the younger how to do things and saying stuff like 'this is how mom taught me to tie shoes'. The whole time you wonder, why is she talking in past tense is the mom dead maybe? But when the older sister is putting the younger one to bed (there's been no adults in this at all so far), the mother soldier does the surprise return home thing but it's acted out for a commercial and then the Walmart logo comes in. I can't imagine the conversation wherein they decided to take these incredibly personal and difficult moments and turn it into a scripted scene. I don't know. Even if you're doing it purely to say you support troops, why not just leave this stuff alone and donate a billion dollars to the families instead?
All my upvotes for your difficult process. You can save some for Rick when/if he comes 'round.
So what shitty show are you going to review until Feb? I am going to miss these. May I nominate Dexter with Tom Hanks Jr? That just had its own reveal everyone was expecting?
That has got to be the only good piece of writing this season, no wonder it was cut. That actually makes sense! And it makes sense over a significant period of time, too bad it was sacrificed to half-ass Shyamalan the ending.
I don't get how men who clearly want to have sex but don't make the first move is sexist towards men. Glen clearly was interested in farm girl, annoyingly so. Andrea made a suggestive move towards a horny alpha male, farm girl propositioned Glen..neither one of those is mad aggressive, unless you're viewing that from a puritanical point of view. Those two women get what the want in those situations, that's great..but then there's the other 50 minutes of the show.
This show and women. Terrible. It is now worse than True Blood level for me. 1. So a kid who has just barely escaped death manages to not only get a gun but convinces the adults to teach him how to shoot one in minutes even though Andrea, as terrible as she may be, needed half a season to convince apocalypse patriarchy to let her hold one. 2. Andrea just needs a good fuck? 3. Glen's hysterical gf just needs a good fuck? 4. Housewife?? Have you been fucking paying attention to everything your mother has been doing for you while your dad was away? Who the fuck is this kid? 5. Not one woman is there to talk to Lori about her decision but THREE men (only one with an actual kid) thought it best to lecture her about how she should make it. What the fuck is this show? 6. Racist Boondock Saint is still the only reasonable character on the show. 7. Black guy pops up to deliver the 'ghetto' line, never seen from again.
I was surprised how happy I was when Carl stopped breathing. I thought the show was finally going to get some deep interesting crisis going on, dead child and missing probably dead child. The closest to a reality of a zombie apocalypse I can imagine. Children are dead weight, they would be easily killed but no. They gave us a seizure and a last second miraculous save. Everything else, holy shit it's boring.
Oh that fucking flashback where she just goes on and on about how perfect the hero of the show is and how terrible she is about it as if we needed another reason to hate her before we got to the 'veteran?' scene. Then she hears that her husband was shot and is being operated on and NO TEARS. 10 seconds later: Ok, I've recovered. Time to tell the kid with the faces, brb.'
Did anyone else notice reformedracist's motorcycle had a Nazi SS symbol on it? Was that always a thing? Did he always have that motorcycle traveling with them or did he just slap on one of his spare stickers after he found a motorcycle (which uses gas carrying ONE person, Walking Dead writers) right outside the CDC?
For a long time I've been convinced that she's pulling a hoax on the Tea Party. I ended up watching the whole video and being impressed by how crazy smart her interview subjects ended up being about any question she lobbed at them; religion, economical, conspiratorial, etc. It would have been very easy to confront a teenager in a tie dye shirt and white boy dreds who didn't know the complicated history of Wall St's corrupt tentacles.
I don't get why people think the plan was genius, it failed at first. And then a huge number of unrelated and random occurrences needed to happen to let him get to Gus.
Reposting what I wrote in reply to someone, explaining how I think it went down and how Walt isn't brilliant but ridiculous TV show lucky: Huell (Big Guy) switched the boxes, in unbelievable TV land Huell realized Jesse wouldn't notice if his pack was slightly different than he remembered (ex-smoker, I never really paid too much attention to how many cigs I had especially since I, and most smokers, let people bum) and he pocketed his actual pack (you can see this when you look for it on rewatch). Saul had him do it. Why? Walt asked Saul to do that and poison Brock, who he has close contact and trust with. Saul thinks Gus is after him because of his relationship with Walt so he hopes Walt wins, in case he doesn't he asks Jesse to put in a good word for him at the office. It's a sloppy plan that actually didn't work out at first because Gus is too smart. Walt got lucky in that Jesse got detained for sounds like rice which then got Saul to come to his rescue which then let Jesse tell Saul about Salamanca which then lets Saul tell Walt about the enemies thing, which would not have happened if Walt wasn't able to bribe office lady to give him a way to contact him. Aaaaand then the nurse would have had to contact the right DEA people to get to Hank who then would have had to go against the safety/anger of his family to go in and see Salamanca THAT SAME DAY. Aaaand Gus's one man staff would have had to have eyes on Salamanca at just the right hour to catch him going to the DEA unless someone tipped him off about the DEA. And it all had to happen within a day or two. It's ridiculous and I loved it. Walt owes the universe some personal suffering for being that lucky against someone like Gus. The epic comical Gus death was a consolation prize for such a ridiculous set up.

'Ride in my beemer'. You can write shitty songs all you want and autotune a voice until the machine breaks but some mistakes are just absurd, she's at least 15 years away from driving.
