And "I Wanna Be Your Lover" is a Prince song not a Beatles castoff. I believe you meant "I Wanna Be Your Man" (which was a castoff written for The Rolling Stones).
I'm not going to take the bait and argue with this list, but I will be a music nerd and argue with this statement: "'Till There Was You' is an early example of Paul's fondness (and knack) for old-timey balladry..." "Till There Was You" was not written by Paul, it was written by Meredith Wilson for the 1957 musical, "The Music Man." Unless of course you meant to infer that Paul had a knack for choosing and singing old-timey (7 year old) cheese.
Questlove asked Elvis if they could work together so who is using who? Also, I never heard about the B.B. King rumor, but the Ray Charles story is ancient, drunken, very stupid history - a dumb attempt to get a rise out of a bunch of drunk American musicians. It worked and very nearly derailed Elvis' career. Sam Moore, Solomon Burke, Allen Toussaint, and Questlove, to name but a few extremely talented African Americans who have collaborated with E.C., appear to have forgiven him. Perhaps Dad should give E.C. a chance.
Just realized my two quibbles were really three. Lists!!!
This is both a great list and a fantastic overview of the most gifted singer-songwriter of the past 30 or so years. Only two real quibbles: I'd move This Year's Model to number 1, Get Happy! to number 2, and I'd move Mighty Like a Rose more towards the middle if, for nothing else, "So Like Candy", "Couldn't Call It Unexpected", "Hurry Down Doomsday", and "Invasion Hit Parade".

Have you seen that show Girls on HBO? It's so racist.

I'm going to guess that the thin-skinned members of my family from Minnesota would be offended by this commercial (they were offended by Fargo without having seen it). The Jamaicans I know would probably be amused by the spot. Does this spot have fun with cultural stereotypes? Definitely. Is it hurtful? Doubtful (unless you are a thin-skinned Minnesotan). The fact is this commercial wasn't racist until Charles Blow declared it was in the NY friggin' Times and that's when the Internet jumped on the finger-pointing bandwagon.
My main problem with the interview was the lack of black, hispanic, and asian people.
I've heard this is Dan Quayle's favorite commercial of all time.
Gabe and many of his sycophants have some weird kind of bug up their asses when it comes to Gervais. We get it. You don't like him. So why do you waste so much time talking about him? This post should have been about how shitty the profile and the profiler are, not about how (seemingly) self-involved Gervais is. Almost all of Gabe's examples are sentences written by the profiler not words that came from Gervais himself so this whole post is really just Gabe making assumptions based on his bizarre hatred of man he should care nothing about. Move on. Or else you'll end up being just like the man you hate.
Gabe, you're such a ridiculous hypocrite. You can shit all over Tim Allen but Ricky Gervais can't? You think Tom Cruise's "Sunday outfit" is fantastic fodder for insult jokes but Gervais' absolutely brilliant Cruise-Travolta-Scientology joke was hackneyed? Oy.
What, no link to the Johnny Depp/Ricky Gervais Golden Globes-referencing clip? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MnSCkpHGqz0) You are such a mong. I mean slut.
It actually was a great interview (well, the responses were great; Leno is just a hopelessly awful interviewer). President Obama is a thoughtful, intelligent adult with a healthy sense of humor which makes most Americans' heads explode (since America clearly doesn't deserve to have an adult in charge of the country).
So you think it's okay to throw the word "slut" around as long as you're just joking?
Didn't Kelly imply Scarlett Johansson was a "SLUT" for dating lots of men in a previous post? Isn't that being completely insensitive to women (and Ms. Johansson)? hypocrisygum is depressing the shit out of me.
I'm sorry but “My favourite drink is toilet" is fucking hilarious and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJT_MKA3i04&feature=related is one of my all time favourite songs. politicallycorrectgum is depressing me.
