Okay I think at this point you understand and agree with me but you are just being a dumbass intentionally, so I'm done with you.
So the music, the acting, the direction, even the coloring of this video don't signal to you that it's supposed to be funny? And you know, ALL THE JOKES? Jesus.
Obviously, it is a fear of some people that their child will return with some of the qualities the daughter in the video has gained while away at college (a very legitimate one) but its still VERY VERY CLEARLY a comical dramatization of this scenario meant to hook its viewers into attending the online workshop. HOW IS THIS NOT OBVIOUS???
Can I just say that Anderson Cooper fucking rocks? I didn't even know he was gay until these comments, so now he rocks even more. And both those ladies are the worst. How can anyone possibly defend Suze Orman?
I am consistently reminded of how dense the Videogum readership. Guys, this is VERY VERY CLEARLY supposed to be a comical dramatization. They are used quite often in advertising. Or do you guys believe Red Bull is actually claiming that you will sprout wings upon drinking their product? You are supposed to LAUGH at the JOKES. I'm emphasizing those words because they seem to be lost in your sea of irony these days.
"Mixing ecstasy valium and xanax before having to play in front of thousands of people was one of the more poor decisions I've made" How can anyone possibly defend this guy after a statement like this?
Anyone see episodes 2 & 3? Pretty good, IMO.
1. King of the Hill is an excellent show. Period. 2. All the people who are obviously offended because they relate closely to the characters in this show, but are hiding behind a thin veil of "well this show just sucks in general" need to shut up. Get over yourselves. Not everything has to be politically charged. Is okay to enjoy this show without questioning its political leanings. 3. Its not that great but there were a few funny parts, and I am definitely willing to give the show a chance to grow into something great like King of the Hill. You can't really write off a whole series coming from someone like Mike Judge based on a pilot.
I'm pretty sure its understood we are talking about adults reading recreationally. Obviously children need to learn to read, but thanks for clearing that up just in case there was someone in here promoting illiteracy (there wasn't).
What, exactly, is postmodern existentialism good for? I mean, besides mastering the art of acting like a prick. Outside of those books, the ideas they present are pretty fucking worthless.
Lets not turn this into a theological discussion. Second paragraph was pretty irrelevant.
Really? You're going with the "omg ur blog comment is not perfect grammar u r stoopid" thing? Okay, you got me. For the record, there are several grammatical errors in your trite response.
Reading and intelligence are not connected. Intelligence has to do mainly with critical reasoning one's ability to understand information and apply it. You're telling me that reading a Harry Potter novel affects these traits in ANY way? Because it doesn't.
He doesn't read, so why would he say that he does? Its not like reading makes you smart anyways. Most recreational readers I know read trashy murder mystery or fantasy novels that probably reduce their intelligence more than sharpen it.
Dirty Work? The one that received universally bad reviews and failed to recover its budget?
Wow, so he doesn't like reading. Why is everyone so offended? Are your parents books or something? Reading is boring. Some people don't like being bored. Get over it.
Can anyone explain to me what Norm McDonald has done in his career besides be on SNL and regularly appear on late night talk shows with absolutely nothing to promote? Because I don't get the whole "Norm McDonald is hilarious" thing. Because he's kind of a loser and not exceptionally funny.
I agree. And why hasn't the idea of a race of machines destroying humanity been explored yet? I'm glad '9' is filling these voids.
He pretty much nails it though. Fag hags are insufferable. I don't mind the shameless promotion of his shitty music because the fake ad is hilarious and mostly on-point, besides the random dig at HR departments.
this is so much better than the actual studio recording. their album is a little boring for me but i'd like to see them live.
His point about paparazzi photos is stupid. When you are chasing someone around and trying to get any photo you can with the few seconds they are in sight, you don't take the time to measure the light and make sure you have perfect exposure and white balance settings and frame the shot artistically. You just take some pictures before they disappear. And his trying and failing to compare this decade's celebrities to those from a variety of different decades in the past is pretty bad too.
But Wayne is black and Yorke is English... its perfect!
I can't tell if I should have high expectations for this because its a Tarantino movie or low expectations because he's worked on it so long that it can't possibly be good. I'm guessing they will cancel out and I'll go in with no expectations at all.
the voice of this generation of this decade.
when you call me a doucher, is that sincerely the insult you decided to go with, or were you sarcastically using it like "haha im intentionally using a childish insult because it contrasts with my otherwise articulate manner of speech that i use in real life but not while typing on the internet so it loses its effect anyway"? because either way you suck.
I, too, assumed for a while that In Rainbows' massive popularity was due to it being a lot of people's first Radiohead album. That was the only way I could explain the hysteria for such a mediocre collection of b-sides. But it also received fantastic reviews from critics across the board and form longtime fans. That I attribute to marketing and to the "fanboy" nature of Radiohead listeners. Anyways, back on topic, In Rainbows WAS extremely disappointing to those of us who listened to it with an objective viewpoint and I'm looking forward to hearing whether IR will be looked back on as the beginning of Radiohead's slow descent into irrelevance or just a hitch in their brilliant careers.
"like every week" = "a few years ago" = "a couple of months"?
Definitely awkward but I think the hilarity is intentional. Cosby's still got it!
I still dont get the keyboard cat thing. And Meghan McCain didn't come off as articulate. She came off like "really? you're 24? not 19? REALLY?"
i think you need to have a talk with this kid's dad.
i still dont understand what you are trying to say to me. try english this time. and, you know, coherent thought.
ed hardy isnt the worst. people who wear ed hardy are the worst.
i was certainly late to the game but that doesnt take away slumdog millionaire's many flaws which were overlooked by most critics and fans for no apparent reason. anyway, this video is hilarious.
yea bree im sure this new series will not have any racist humor in it. you know, for the children.
Am I the only one that doesn't get this keyboard cat stuff? I mean the clip of the cat itself is kinda funny, but whats with all the videos that edit the cat into them? They don't make any sense. Anyway, I wish more dads were like that dad.
Does anyone who lives in Wheaton REALLY need a free meal? The answer is no. You probably drove to the KFC in a BMW.
This song is awesome and this is an awesome performance of it. And thats all that really matters. So what if her manager booked her for Ellen? She still makes great music.
wow, are all the douchebags who get offended by everything running out of ridiculous things to get offended by and so are now moving onto really really fucking out of left field things to get offended by? jesus christ, these ads are fucking harmless. thank god for republicans, otherwise all you radical lefties would ban the entire english language because it might hurt someone's feelings. which, by the way, these ads would never do. they suck, but they are not offensive.
