Robyn Brings Her "Cobrastyle" To The View

Well sure, it's not exactly her "Cobrastyle." But turning up for estrogen hour at ABC studios with the suited Teddybears themselves indicates she's got clearance to do with it as she pleases. This morning, as a few weeks ago on...  The View'">CONTINUE READING ROBYN BRINGS HER "COBRASTYLE" TO THE VIEW»

Robyn Performs Live For An Empty AOL Studio, Kicks Ass

Not everyone's come around to Robyn (except you, of course, Perez). Maybe you just need it stripped down some? You know, boiled to the essentials, i.e. Robyn's voice, hooks ... and hair. Bingo: AOL is currently streaming the Robyn Sessions,...  CONTINUE READING ROBYN PERFORMS LIVE FOR AN EMPTY AOL STUDIO, KICKS ASS»

New Robyn (Feat. The Knife) Video - "Who's That Girl"

"Good girls are pretty like all the time, I'm just pretty some of the time." For Robyn, "some of the time" happens to be any time (particularly when she's in a video or on stage), but that lyric and our...  CONTINUE READING NEW ROBYN (FEAT. THE KNIFE) VIDEO - "WHO'S THAT GIRL"»

Robyn's "Who's That Girl" To Get A Release, Some Remixes, A Video

While we're airing the dirty laundry/our compulsions, we semi-obsessively check in at Robyn's MySpace because she's, ya know, awesome, and learned today that the next single (compliments of Robyn's UK release cycle) is "Who's That Girl," her collab with the Knife, due April '08. What this means for you, person that's had the album for three years, is three new remixes (by Seamus Haji, Rex The Dog, and Drop The Lime) and a new, Diane Martel (of White Stripes and Beyoncé fame)-directed video. At this point "Who's That Girl" is one of the few LP tracks that doesn't already have a video (or two), so we are excited. That is all.

Robyn @ Highline Ballroom, NYC 2/5/08

By Amrit and Scott Yeah it's a special sort of show that's able to summon multiple Stereogum staffers from their cocoons. And as the posts from P4K (again) BV, Fluxblog, and yours truly all suggested, Robyn was, in a...  CONTINUE READING ROBYN @ HIGHLINE BALLROOM, NYC 2/5/08»

Videos From Robyn At Highline Ballroom, NYC 2/6/07

Finally, the wait was over; Robyn took over Highline Ballroom for her first NY show in ten years ever. (According to her banter she never even played here with a live band in those "Show Me Love" days -- which,...  CONTINUE READING VIDEOS FROM ROBYN AT HIGHLINE BALLROOM, NYC 2/6/07»

Robyn & Snoop Dogg Erupt, Sexually

Meet the only thing more irresistible than Snoop with a talk box: Snoop with a talk box with a Robyn. It's a fairly sweet Fyre Department remix of Dogg's pimptastic Zapp & Roger turn, with Robyn adding some new logs to the fire. We only wish that pic came from an actual photo shoot, and further only wish we were invited to said photo shoo. Anyway, one week 'til Highline. Yes.

Our favorite pop princess stops into the comedy-music-quiz-show-thing Never Mind The Buzzcocks, joining famous-in-Britain guests Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly., Phill Jupitus, Bill Bailey, Mark Watson, and Christopher Biggins to hear Simon Amstell's horrible roast abilities and discuss the likelihood a bird ever shit in Cyndi Lauper's mouth.

New Robyn Video - "Be Mine (Ocelot Mthrfckers Remix)"

The mthrfckers at Ocelot offer up a super-fine dance remix of Robyn's "Be Mine!" and set it to footage from Action Figure, adding to the growing list of the tune's videos. While the original was moving -- what with the Robyn meltdown and the shaving of the head head in the mirror (pre-Britney, mind) -- this one's just hilarious ... especially when the approaching boxing gloves start making contact ... and especially when the folks getting hit are either smiling, wearing glasses, or ample-faced just seconds before contact. Does that make us bad people? Actually don't answer. Instead, get psyched: Robyn is coming! And Stereogum sort of collectively bought way too many tickets out of sheer excitement. It'd be smart if you did, too. (Go, we mean; getting too many tix was actually pretty dumb.) (via P4K)

New Robyn Video - "Be Mine!"

The publicity trajectory for Robyn's self-titled album's a wonder to behold; it sorta feels like we've been on a three year bender, celebrating Robyn's breathtaking popcraft over and over and over again. New Robyn Video - "Handle Me"

New Robyn Video - "Konichiwa Bitches"

We don't write about Robyn enough, but the new vid for her Chappelle-referencing song is so awesome, we're thinking that'll change.
