Lloyd Banks Samples Radiohead

The Cold Corner 2, the new mixtape from resurgent G-Unit second banana Lloyd Banks, is not going to be our Mixtape Of The Week tomorrow. It’s too long, and it peters out early and gets a bit boring. It is, however, entirely deserving of a listen or two. The first seven tracks or so are… More »

Radiohead Announce U.S. Tour

It’s finally happening. Radiohead haven’t done a proper full-scale tour of these parts in a few years. But early next year, they’ll launch a trip that covers large parts of the American South and Midwest, playing sporting arenas named after corporations and everything. And it seems likely that more dates will follow, especially after those… More »

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien is auctioning off the cream-colored Telecaster used during the Kid A sessions, and proceeds will benefit the Billie Butterfly Fund, a charity devised to raise money for a sick child’s medical treatment. The guitar has also been signed by the band and comes with an “Authenticity Note” from Ed. Head to… More »

Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood & DOOM – “Retarded Fren”

On a track with the perfectly ridiculous title “Retarded Fren,” Radiohead gentlemen Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have hooked up with a somewhat unlikely collaborator, masked indie-rap hero DOOM. On the track, DOOM kicks his trademark slurry free-associative wordplay over wobbly bass-music subs and jittery strings that sound like they jumped straight from Greenwood’s ThereMore »

Radiohead Plot Return To Studio, Atoms For Peace LP

Thom Yorke recently spoke with Rolling Stone’s David Fricke, giving a few tantalizing details about the band’s forthcoming plans. He didn’t come right out and say that they’re releasing a new free album tomorrow or anything like that, but they are going back to the studio in the months ahead to work on new music. More »

Watch Radiohead “Give Up The Ghost” On Fallon

For the past week or so, Radiohead have been on a grand New York media tour, hitting SNL, The Colbert Report, and Roseland Ballroom two nights in a row. And unless we’re about to learn that they’re planning to appear on The View or something, the band (or at least Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood)… More »

Radiohead @ Roseland Ballroom, NYC 9/28/11

Though I have my reservations about The King Of Limbs and, like most people, revere the back catalog enough to be considered “formative” of personal experience listening to alternative music, I had realistic expectations for Wednesday night’s Radiohead show, the first of two at NYC’s Roseland ballroom. After all, this isn’t the band from MeetingMore »

Watch Radiohead On The Colbert Report

Last night, Stephen Colbert dedicated an entire hour-long episode of his television program to Radiohead, his guests. He interviewed them a couple of times, he built his comedy bits loosely around their presence, and he gave them enough stage time to play four songs, plus one more as an online exclusive.

Radiohead brought… More »

Watch Radiohead On Saturday Night Live

Last night, Radiohead showed up on the season premiere of SNL, their first appearance on that particular television institution since 2000. Alec Baldwin hosted for a record setting 16th time, which meant Steve Martin showed up too. Radiohead sadly didn’t appear in any Lonely Island sketches, but they did perform the King Of Limbs single… More »

Radiohead – “Bloom (Jamie xx Remix)”

Radiohead are currently in the midst of releasing a series of 12″ remix singles and arguably the most anticipated remix in that series is finally here: Jamie xx taking on the King Of Limbs track “Bloom.” As it turns out, Jamie xx’s remix of the track is relatively short and without a whole lot Radiohead… More »

Radiohead Tour, Atoms For Peace LP In 2012

Earlier this week, Radiohead made a bunch of New York-area people happy by announcing that they’d play two shows at Roseland Ballroom next week, and they’ve also got guest spots coming up on Saturday Night Live and The Colbert Report. And now Thom Yorke is letting the world know that the band’s sporadic live-show schedule… More »

Radiohead Playing 2 Shows At Roseland Ballroom, 1 Hour Colbert Report Next Week

UPDATE: Radiohead’s New York week just got a little bigger! The band will also play two headlining shows at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, a venue way too small for them, September 28 and 29. Those tickets go on sale 9/26 at 10AM at ticketmaster, and they will go about as quickly as tickets can possibly… More »

Thom Yorke – “Twist”

Thom Yorke recently put together a 25-minute DJ mix for XFM, and most of the tracks on it are songs that involve him in some way or another: a couple of tracks of other people remixing Radiohead, his remix of a John Matthias track, that sort of thing. And the big news on the mix… More »

Watch Aphex Twin, Jonny Greenwood Perform In Poland

This past weekend in Wroclaw, Poland, both Radiohead multi-instrumentalist Jonny Greenwood and enigmatic electronic eminence Aphex Twin debuted new orchestral works alongside the hard-to-spell Polish avant-garde composer Krzysztof Penderecki. Greenwood and Aphex both debuted works that remixed or reworked older works from Penderecki, and both of them joined an orchestra onstage to perform those works. More »

Jim Carrey Covered Radiohead And Smashing Pumpkins @ Arlene’s Grocery, Apparently

In the grand tradition of Stereogum covering comedians covering Radiohead, here is putty-faced entertainer Jim Carrey and his band (of course) on the Lower East Side Friday night giving the business to “Creep” at forgotten rock room Arlene’s Grocery for a crowd full of people who, I dunno, are fans enough of Jim Carrey to… More »
