Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker guested on three songs off of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Special, and he’s supporting Ronson at a few shows this summer. One of those just happened to be the UK’s Glastonbury Festival, where he came out to perform his parts on “Daffodils” and “Summer Breaking.” Ronson’s guest-heavy Glastonbury set also included a… More »

Kevin Parker Surprised, Confused By Tame Impala Royalties Lawsuit

Earlier this month, BMG sued Modular Recordings and its founder Steve “Pav” Pavlovic over missing royalties that were meant to be paid out to Tame Impala but never were. The 7 Best Performances Of Governors Ball 2015 Sunday

Governors Ball was oversold, there’s no question about it; that, or the festival grounds shrunk significantly this year. Either way, we had a great time and Sunday felt way less hectic in comparison with the rest of the weekend. Maybe everyone was burned out or hungover or half-dead, but it seemed like fewer people chose… More »

Modular Founder Sued Over Missing Tame Impala Royalties

During a Reddit AMA in April, Kevin Parker noted that, “Up until recently, from all of Tame Impala’s record sales outside of Australia, I had received…. zero dollars. Someone high up spent the money before it got to me.”… More »

Watch Tame Impala Puppets Play “‘Cause I’m A Man”

“”Cause I’m A Man” already got one weird music video, and now here’s another one. Technically, it’s being billed as the “official live video” but, unless all the members of Tame Impala magically changed into puppets overnight (maybe!), it basically acts as a second go at a music video. And yeah, you read that right:… More »

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Will Play At A Few Mark Ronson Shows This Summer

Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has a pretty busy summer coming up, what with his band releasing the extremely anticipated album Currents and all. But Parker is making time for a friend, too. Parker sang three of the non-“Uptown Funk!” songs on Uptown Special, the really good and weirdly underrated album from his fellow studio… More »

Tame Impala – “‘Cause I’m A Man” Video

Tame Impala have shared a video for their Currents single “‘Cause I’m A Man.” It’s all done in slick 3D animation, and explores a world full of empty suit men that take on different heads depending on their situation — disco ball, wedding ring, and roses all float above their disembodied figures at one point. Artist Portraits From Shaky Knees 2015

Shaky Knees Festival went down in Atlanta this weekend, and we sent two photographers to capture portraits and live shots of some of the performers on this extensive lineup. Tame Impala released their fourth Currents single, “Eventually,” on Thursday, and they debuted it live the very next night during their set at Levitation Fest (formerly the Austin Psych Fest). “We’re going to try a new song,” Kevin Parker started off. “Here’s hoping we get to the other end.” The band jams out a little… More »

Don’t Worry, Tame Impala Currents Vinyl Won’t Actually Run You $45

Tame Impala’s new record, Currents, is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, but perusing the online store for the album startled me: The prices seemed abnormally high. Especially given Kevin Parker’s very chill take on how much music should cost, it seemed odd that vinyl would run between $43-$45, a CD would… More »

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Thinks Music Should Be Free, Makes His Money From Commercials Anyway

To call Kevin Parker — the man behind the curtain of Tame Impala’s sweeping, psychedelic music — “unconventional” is an understatement. Simply read excerpts from his extensive Under The Radar interview to get a sense of his wonderful idiosyncrasies. Or, consider that when a fan asked him to share a new song during his Reddit… More »

Tame Impala Hope People Don’t Think “‘Cause I’m A Man” Is Sexist

In a very, very extensive interview with Under The Radar, Kevin Parker opened up about the impetus behind his two newly-released songs from Tame Impala’s third album Currents, among other things. It’s a great profile and well worth checking out, but the most interesting parts are when Parker gets really personal about “Let It Happen“… More »

Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker still seems to be getting used to the idea that he’s the man behind one of the world’s most exciting bands. At Coachella this past weekend, he kept talking about how nervous he was, playing the festival’s largest stage just before AC/DC. Fortunately, though, Parker’s music doesn’t lack for confidence, and… More »

The 10 Best Moments Of Coachella 2015 Friday

There’s every other festival in America, and then there’s Coachella. Every year, it feels like it matters just a bit more than the others.
