I don't even know what the peg is with "Burgundy," this new Earl Sweatshirt produced by Pharrell. Is it that from Daft Punk and Robin Thicke to Azealia Banks and, now, Earl Sweatshirt, this is the Summer Of Pharrell in all stratospheres of the musical landscape? Is it that "sad rap" is trending this year (e.g., Yung Lean, Lil' Pain) and the introspective lyrics about depression serve as a reminder that they were exposing their guts before it was Internet-cool? Or is it just that one of the most promising rappers from the new generation and one of the most prolific and eclectic producers linked up in what should be pretty gut-wrenching? The answer is all of the above. Check it out below.

Doris is out 8/20 via Odd Future Records.
