This week, the young god Miles Bowe took over the Album Of The Week column because he wanted to write about Actress's experimental electronic swan song Ghettoville. Miles wrote about it very well, but if I were writing the column this week, my vote absolutely would've gone to Too True, the shivery new one from the Dum Dum Girls. And last night, the band showed up on the Late Show With David Letterman, sending Dave into a sort of drooling fit. The band played the bleary Too True track "Rimbaud Eyes" and looked as icy and immaculately styled as ever. (I believe it's the first time I've seen a Dum Dum Girls lineup with a dude in it. Letterman to that guy: "Nice gig.") We don't get too see too many bands with both their sound and their look so completely figured out. Watch the performance below.
