Brooklyn via Minneapolis pop trio Strange Names are steadily ramping up to the release of Use Your Time Wisely. Lead single, "Ricochet" has already received the video treatment and a remix from Yeasayer, and today the group shares "Neighborhood," which overflows with '80s dance and New Wave vibes. Layers of synths, spanning the spectrum from heavy and low-frequency to airy and jaunty, are punctuated with slap-happy drums and unexpectedly piercing lyrics. The track embodies youthful angst through a retro filter. Check it out.
