Canadian singer/songwriter Nicole Dollanganger is about to release her new album Natural Born Losers, an album Grimes apparently loves so much she started a new sort-of-but-not-really record label just to put it out. (There has been some online speculation that Dollanganger is actually Grimes' new alter ego, and their voices do sound a lot alike, but unless it's an insanely elaborate hoax with seemingly very little payoff, the evidence suggests that Dollanganger is indeed a real person.) We've heard one song from the record already, "You're So Cool," and now we're hearing another, "Angels Of Porn (II)", a reworking of an acoustic track from Dollanganger's 2014 Bandcamp release Observatory Mansions. The new fleshed-out electric guitar and organ version is an odd mixture of sweet and sour, with Dollanganger's unsettling lyrics made even more unsettling by her plaintive babydoll vocals. The VHS-style video, directed by Dollanganger herself along with Kevin Jenkins and Matt Tomasi, features a bunch of leather-clad guys hanging out by an empty baseball field, messily eating desserts and making out, occasionally at the same time. Watch and listen below.
