YG has lately been working on Still Krazy, the follow-up to his excellent 2014 debut My Krazy Life. And from everything we've heard, he's abandoning the Mustardwave sound of that first album for the cinematic lope of classic early-'90s G-funk, which seems like a strong move. We heard it on "Twist My Fingaz," the great single he released this summer, and on "I Wanna Benz," the Nipsey Hussle/50 Cent collab he released over the weekend. And now, as The FADER points out, YG has shared a pair of new songs that further move YG's sound away from that My Krazy Life style. "City Mad" is a slick little banger with guest verses from Sacramento up-and-comer Mozzy and Slim400, a longtime YG collaborator. And "Goapele Freestyle" finds YG and Slim400 hijacking "Closer," a smooth song from the R&B singer Goapele. Listen to both below.
Still Krazy is apparently coming out sometime in 2016 on Def Jam.
