RJD2 – “Peace Of What”

Versatile Philly producer RJD2 was almost criminally slept on in 2015. The title of his collab album STS x RJD2 with fellow Philadelphian rapper STS looks like an algebraic equation, and the combination added up to something great. We posted two soulful standouts, “420” and a clip for “Doin’ It Right.” Now RJ Krohn is back with a new solo album, Dame Fortune, and lead single “Peace Of What” (dropped at Complex) continues down that soulful path. Bright horns, cleverly syncopated drums, and rhythmic string flourishes bolster warm, stirring vocals. Dig how the ivories get tickled during the fadeout as well. Check it out below.
