Legacy hip-hop trio De La Soul’s The Anonymous Nobody is quickly approaching — it’ll arrive in a little more than two weeks. They’ve already released four singles off of the crowdfunded album, and today they share “Drawn.” It’s a sprawling classical piece that melts into a chilled-out funky, jazzy jam. Little Dragon sings beautifully over the orchestral section, and Posdnous and Dave deliver solid verses as usual over the more soulful part of the arrangement. The eclectic guest list and varying sonics have this album shaping up to be a wonderfully expansive affair. De La have expressed some frustration at the unavailability of their catalog online, and this led to them going the crowdfunded indie route for the album, but that seems like a blessing in disguise.
