As rumored, A Tribe Called Quest did indeed record one last album before Phife Dawg's death. Q-Tip just announced the news via a lengthy handwritten note posted to Facebook, explaining that they hit the studio together after their reunion on The Tonight Show last year. Although Phife passed away before the album was finished, Q-Tip says "he left us with the blue print of what we had to do." And no, "this isn't filled with old Phife bars...This is that pure, unstepped on pure!" The album, which for obvious reasons will be the final ATCQ album, doesn't have a title yet, but it's set to feature Busta Rhymes and Consequence and it'll be out 11/11 via Epic. And according to Billboard, Tribe will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live immediately following the album's release.

A new video for a song called "We Are the People" is expected to be released Friday, and full album details are expected to be announced 11/9.
