Forth Wanderers released their excellent self-titled sophomore album back in April. Last month we saw the video for its lead single “Not For Me,” and this month we named the album one of this year’s best so far.
Today the indie rock outfit has shared their newest video for album highlight “Taste” directed by Everett Ravens. Its initial moody drag quickly settles into the dull, deep pain of cheating. There’s a glaring sadness in actress Sebastian Rosemarie’s eyes.
The video hits hard in its minutia — the subtle grabs of intimacy, lips swiftly pressed together, hidden glances. The lines “Not a trace of guilt/ Not a glimpse of regret” serve a new purpose as the video’s story twists them into a heartbreaking lie. And at the end, she may or may not try to bludgeon her lover with a toilet tank cover. Watch below.
Forth Wanderers is out now on Sub Pop.
