Last month, Built To Spill announced a Daniel Johnston covers album, Built To Spill Plays The Songs Of Daniel Johnston, which they recorded while preparing to perform with Johnston at the Vancouver date of his final tour. It’s the second tribute album to come out of that tour following Wilco’s vinyl-only live album, which chronicled their Chicago show with the late legend.

We’ve heard Built To Spill’s take on “Bloody Rainbow” from it already, and today they’re sharing their version of “Life In Vain,” a song from Johnston’s only album for Atlantic Records, 1994’s Fun. Listen to it below.
