Sometime within the past day, the dreamy dad-rockers extraordinaire went on Instagram Live with footage of what looks like studio speakers blaring a new Drugs song. One intrepid Redditor captured this moment for archival purposes. Another, with a username suspiciously close to our comment section's own War On Drugs enthusiast bakedbeans, enthuses, "Omg the full tom petty/seger sound."

The most recent War On Drugs studio album was I Don't Live Here Anymore, which we named the best album of 2021. I guess we've entered into the "one album every five years" phase of this band's career, but two Drugs statement LPs per decade is a deal I'll take every time.
