A little less than a year ago, Stevie Nicks gave a charmingly loopy speech at the Pollstar Awards, and she told the crowd that she'd begun work on her first album since 2011's In Your Dreams: "I have seven songs, and they are autobiographical real stories where I'm not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life... They're real stories of memories of mine, of fantastic men!" Nicks said, "I call it the ghost record." Apparently, that album is real, and it's actually entitled The Ghost Record and set for release next month.
The news about The Ghost Record comes from an unlikely source: A People magazinThe "where are they now" roundup of the current activities of all the members of Fleetwood Mac. The long section on Nicks ends with this sentence: "Nicks' latest album, titled The Ghost Record, is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2026." That seems pretty definitive! We've reached out to Nicks' reps for confirmation, and we'll update this post if we hear anything.
Nicks made her Pollstar Awards speech after she released her 2024 single "The Lighthouse," which was her first in a few years. We have no idea whether that'll be on this album. Last month, Stevie Nicks' former partner and bandmate Lindsey Buckingham seemingly teased some kind of reunion, following the reissue of their pre-Fleetwood Mac collaborative album Buckingham Nicks. Also, former Stereogum staffer Rachel Brodsky just announced her Stevie Nicks book Lessons & Lace today.
