In January, Adult DVD signed to Fat Possum and unleashed an enthralling dance-punk anthem called "Real Tree Lee." Now, the Leeds band is announcing their eponymous, self-produced debut album and sharing another deranged banger. This one's called "Cowboy On Aisle Three."
Much like "Real Tree Lee," this new preview explodes with DFA-indebted infectiousness. "I came up with the idea when I was in Lidl," frontman Harry Hanson explains. "I'm sure everyone has thought, 'Imagine if I just went nuts now,' to get out of doing the big shop."
"We don't take things too seriously," synth-player Greg Lonsdale adds. "The lyrics have got sillier, the songs have got sillier. We make music for people to enjoy, so let them have a laugh."
Still, "I'm just a cowboy down on aisle three/ You're all at the checkouts looking at me" is a more contagious hook than it should be. Watch its accompanying music video below.
