Lightning Bolt was the first album I didn't end up liking from them. When I first read this take, I was thinking to myself "What is he talking about? Critics torched them for LB" but then I looked it up on metacritic (which I know is not the end-all and be-all but still) and I was surprised to see it in the "generally favorable reviews" category. So maybe that's to this guy's point? IDK, sometimes you run out of revolutionary ideas. Sometimes your energy is focused in a different direction when you are young and you end up pushing the envelope in a way you can't once you've been around the block. Even if Lightning Bolt didn't hit for me as an album, it still produced some solid tunes that give you more to look forward to when catching them live for the 10th time.

I've noticed that Dead & Co have released a lot of their recent shows on streaming services and I just can't imagine why you would listen to them. I could see reliving a show you recently attended, but even then, why would you put that on when there are so many actual Grateful Dead shows you can stream?

I'm not too sure if this Vernon Downs location is going to be up to the task for such a momentous occasion. Tell me, did Pablo Escobar ever do any illegal activites there?

I unfortunately also spent money on physical copies of music by Limp Bizkit in high school, but when I saw the cover art above and the name of the album, I though to myself "I don't recall that album at all... is that from before or after the two that I bought?" Turns out, it's the one with "Nookie" on it. I definitely owned it. I completely shut everything about it out of my long-term memory.

I've never watched Seth Meyers show, but now I'm thinking maybe I should. I've also never watched James Cordon's, and I'm thinking I'll keep it that way.

The court would have approved his application, if not for his weird insistence not to name any of the streets in the new subdivision.

To be fair to you, you're seeing Hootie and the Blowfish over seeing THS for the third night in a row. Still a very poor life choice, but not as bad as you made it sound!

I'm seeing Vampire Weekend this... err... weekend and I'm cautiously optimistic about how the new songs will be. I'm thinking I will like them because, even though I currently would also rank FOTB last in the band's "unimpeachable discography," I can't deny that most of the songs they'll play from it are pretty fun, and that's what they do really well in concert (or at least they did last time I saw them, when Contra had just been released).

Don't get me wrong, there are many good jokes to make about Phish and Phish fans, but this one seemed lazy and off-the-mark. I get this way about my sports teams too ("I can make fun of my own team way better than you can!")

C'mon, a "Phish is still a thing?" joke? You're better than that. Anyway I've been to Bonnaroo exactly once. I'm a relative prude, so I just wanted to find some marijuana, and it was really quite difficult because everyone was in search of something more potent. We eventually succeeded though!

Remember the Chapelle Show skit where a postmortem Tupac track comes out and the lyrics refer to oddly specific stuff that was happening right then? That was a great skit. Also, if the ghost of Tupac wants to release a “Hit Em Up” aimed at this piece of garbage, in there for it.

I was never more than a casual fan of RHCP even in their heyday, but in college I had one of those stereos with a 51-disc changer which I also used as my alarm clock. Somewhat by accident, this disc found itself in the slot which would become my wake-up music for an entire semester. And "Around The World" is quite possibly the perfect song to thunder out of bed to. Say what you want about the album, but that intro... it was quite possibly the best way to kick off an alternative rock album in the late 90's. That was the only semester I got Dean's Listed...

I read an article about how ghosting people is the most common way to break up with someone you starting seeing from a dating app (do you think these people wonder why they're single?) so this has got to be the Festival Mode version of that. Not that Nick didn't have it coming...

June 4, 2019 on Apple Announces New Apple Music App, Replacing iTunes
I'm with you. There are some versions in the past that were unwelcome changes, but I'm used to the latest version, and find it easier to use than Spotify, with way more features (the key ones: smart playlists, star ratings, ability to tag songs, iCloud music library for anything I have digitally that is not on the service). I am hoping the new music app will keep all these features with a little more streamlining. So I'm a pretty happy Apple Music subscriber, but here's my wishlist: 1) Smart Playlists that work with the Sonos app 2) "New Releases" page that doesn't suck, or notifications when an artist in my library releases something 3) Shuffle Albums feature for the iPhone app (currently only desktop app has this, I have a smart playlist of all full studio albums, and ones from certain years/genres, and I like to shuffle through album-by-album sometimes)
