Strong reference. Here (In Your Arms) is a huge throwback for me.

I saw Vince about a year ago at a smaller-sized club, and also saw him perform at a festival. Both times, he was ebullient and interested in goading the crowd into activity. I don't know if this performance can really be considered the norm now. I am seeing him tomorrow night and will be interested to see how he acts - especially as it will be his first time headlining the Mainroom.

It's so cool to see Kanye and Justin's musical friendship bloom. Kanye heard "Woods" from Blood Bank EP and was like "Yeah, this vibe rules, I'm gonna flip it into being about me being lost in the world. Dope." He asks Justin. Justin says "Of course you can use it! That would be so cool." Then Kanye like, "Wanna make some more dope tracks together for my new album?" "“Oh, cool, I’ll come out to Hawaii, it sounds fun,”" replied Justin. Justin would go on to find himself smoking blunts with Rick Ross and seeing Nicki Minaj destroy her "Monster" verse in person. It must have been an insane step-up in terms of his musical career, as well as a masterclass from Kanye on how to get outside the comfort zones of previous musical expression. What followed was an incredible Bon Iver self-titled, Yeezus, and now we have 22, A Million - an amalgamation of all of it wrapped into Now. Absolutely beautiful, and really cool.

The thing is Bob and Bruce seem to enjoy performing - and here's Pete, chortling at them for making music and doing their thing, all while he doesn't "like performing live."

I think that's the point of the line - kind of jarring to hear a beautiful chorus with great melody and for the meaning of the words to remind you of a very heavy truth.

Can you imagine if Thom made an incredibly upbeat, poppy electronic album?

Earl Sweatshirt being up there with Arcade Fire and My Bloody Valentine seems to say most people at Stereogum aren't over Odd Future. When you consider the Frank Ocean explosion, it becomes even harder to say that. Maybe you're right, that the Odd Future crew is on a downward trend while the unique talents from the crew are ascending on their own.

"I will see you in the next life" is maybe my favorite moment in music. It's all a lead up to that. An album closing (besides the end-end of song 10 on Kid A) moment that is a wisp of pure bliss. It doesn't get much better than that. There's a definite reason such a song doesn't make it on a list like this, but boy, it's still a great one. I agree with Mr. Chan.
