as if the movie hadn't made me swoon enough
here you go http://replygif.net/i/187.gif
but now it's 1 of 2 so we're giving people false hope

FWIW, the OTHER Franz Ferdinand turned 150 in December. http://blogs.forteana.org/system/files/887_Erzherzog_Franz_Ferdinand_von_Oesterreich.jpg
i once saw a dude sending an e-mail without his computer plugged into the modem - can't believe he'd fake that
do you ever leave a comment and then come back and reread it and say "yep i sound like an asshole"? i'm really just jealous of that kid's outfit
what thing did win say this time that people will be outraged about
"For the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2012 and Sept. 30, 2013." (http://www.grammy.org/recording-academy/awards/voting-process/faqs) http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110721153341/logopedia/images/2/2c/Nbc_the_more_you_know.jpg
yeah but now the absence of drama in the photo means the story writes itself
kendrick addresses drama that fans turned into drama but was not really drama to anyone actually involved
killed it as usual

julian oh my sweet julian
and we'd all applaud if he shrugged and played it off like arcade fire's still not a huge act? if he'd have said something along the lines of "i can see why people would call us dorks, we're just a tiny indie act," he'd be derided for being naive and trying to be someone he's not. dude gave an honest answer to a question in an interview, which the interviewer then played up in his write-up. when did we start latching on to soundbites from interviews with people in bands we like as if it's a presidential campaign?
i got friends, but i'm not a friendster (you were just too modern with your social networking websites)
love seeing "all these things that i've done." that is my go-to karaoke jam
"The office massage therapist broke up the fight." can't make this shit up
Doesn't sound like it was copy infringement, though, per Duran Duran's statement: "this particular license was granted without any prior notification to any of us." Sounds like Yoplait got the rights to the song without the actual band finding out, which isn't necessarily Yoplait's fault.
beautiful (the song, yes, but mostly sharon)
FWIW, NIN started hyping their big comeback tour in february, announced "hesitation marks" at the end of may, and it was released at the end of august, so a six- or three-month rollout, depending what you include. sure, arcade fire did a TON more stuff with their rollout (and i can accept that it didn't go over well with everyone), but trent's big issue seems to be with the timeframe of it.
i think by "yearlong rollout" he means "2.5 month rollout" (first weird graffiti appeared mid august, album released end of october)
"Uncalled for and utterly unwinnable..." yup
No I didn't take it that way at all, I just think there are plenty of examples of pretty respectable "big names" with records not on this list (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nine Inch Nails, The Strokes, M.I.A., Jay-Z off the top of my head) that I don't think we can say name recognition is what bolstered those records to the top.
Why not be pumped that the artists we'd put on an anticipated albums list actually delivered with great albums?
This is the closest list I've seen to matching my personal list (Top 5 is identical). Good work, everyone.
hah, now i'm the asshole who didn't read anything in the post except for the lists
And what the heck: 1. Vampire Weekend - Ya Hey 2. Daft Punk - Get Lucky 3. Disclosure - When A Fire Starts To Burn 4. Kanye West - Blood On The Leaves 5. Vampire Weekend - Step 6. Darkside - Paper Trails 7. Arcade Fire - Here Comes The Night Time 8. Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie 9. Wavves - Demon To Lean On 10. Beck - I Won't Be Long
Really surprised to see "Get Lucky" on only one list. Also really intrigued by your different tastes. Good job, you guys!
Yes it's great, but how is JT nominated for Best Original Song for a cover of a song that's decades old? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW6lQKLn5B8
Actually really glad to see this. Loved Sea World as a little kid, but don't think I can ever go back after watching that film.
Mom, I want a My-Sized Julian for Christmas.
Awesome band, definitely deserving of the many words above. The photo Hamilton tweeted last night with the text "Thanks everyone! Hell of a run." destroyed me.
