this def plays out a bit more accessible than Bitte Orca. Dave is one of the best male vocalists out there, love this alot
About to Die and Just From Chevron are big highlights for me, but the whole record plays out wonderfully
an album that makes u take one of the headphones off your ear for a second, in a very good way
absolutely fantastic, "tell me whats inside your heart" is on some seriously demented Beatles level shit
i will admit i torrent every album i listen to. that being said i do support my favorite artists of the year each year... i buy approx 20-30 albums on vinyl every single year (usually my favorite albums of that year). its a nice way to go back year by year. on top of that i go and support tons of live acts that make their way up here to the Mitten. and often the above said vinyl is bought at their merch table...
i have no remorse and feel i support the artists a great amount... feel free to destroy me
thought AOW was gonna be Liars... then i totally forgot this just came out. a lot of us have been lucky to have some extra weeks with it... if u could burn a hole in a digital LP, i would have done it 4 times over by now
premature evaluation of Hot Chip guys? please
ive said a couple times recently how i was terribly late to the Spiritualized catalogue, but god is it awesome. first time i listen to this record was a couple months ago... wish i have had as much time with it as everyone else
unreal video w/ 2001 Space Odyssey Tom, good call
this is def grown up music, threw this on the porch last night for some friends (not really indie listeners) and multiple people asked who this was
here to the walkmen! easily one of the most consistent bands out there. You & Me will always be their greatest imo thou
embarrassed to say i hadnt listened to any Spiritualized until Hey Jane was released a couple weeks ago... i was floored and have been spinning all their old LP constantly in the last couple weeks... enjoyed the stuff so much got tix to see them in Detroit, cant wait
better late than never
i got my google music beta invite about 2-3 weeks ago, i have an android phone so for me it has been great... uploaded all my music from my itunes folders, legally purchased or not (took a while i will say), i have already had two occasions where i simply plugged my phone into my friends cars to play a new track immediately from my google music library... but i still use my ipod as my main source of music, my ipod classic will never die
overall i like the service, but dont really see myself completely losing the whole add to itunes > add to ipod > listen process, now there will just be more ways to get to my library than just the ipod
i pretty much check out every story every day... but lack of commenting is simply due to two things: 1) i am no where near as witty or creative as the majority of monsters and 2) by the time i have something witty there are already 75+ comments and i just decide not to
i did post a salsa dog video thou, prob my proudest moment of the internet EVER
going to see them in detroit tonight... cannot wait
last 5 tracks are some of my favourite they have ever done, thats where you're wrong is just brilliant
as a usual patron for the majestic and its attached venues, i can say the venue wasnt entirely prepared to host this show. it was originally scheduled for a approx 300+ size venue and moved to the theater almost immediately.... i was surprised bottles were given in the first place, every time i went to the bar last night at the theater, my beer was poured into a plastic cup
part of me is completely understanding that if i was in the situation i would stop playing too... but when their music and live act somewhat encourages this radical behavior i was surprised to see them just stop and not take care of the people who threw the bottles and continue with the approx 4-5 songs they had left, and it seemed many of the people in attendance felt similar
while it didnt change my opinions of OF, i def dont blame anyone that may now be put off them (which was the case for 2 of the 3 people i was with). prior to this debacle the show was fantastic and i just really wish it could have continued
no doubt man, nostalgia/ultra kills... i was just saying these appearances boosted my love for him, his verse in Window is easily one of my favorites on the record
co-sign the Earl comment, can only imagine how great his guest verses would be
i enjoy the record a lot, it def took a lot of weekend listening for most of it to sink in... love the 2nd halfs of Radicals and Fish where it morphs into another entirely on both
one opinion that was only strengthened with this record: frank ocean is golden
haha yea i live in oakland county and WDIV was def breaking this story before everyone else... laughable, at least it didnt show it over Community which has been the trend lately with the living healthy specials!!
Hoosiermate.com - just brilliant
my original thought when all the singles were being released was that i would only wanna listen to the tracks i havent heard over and over the last couple of months... but all the reworkings (see "tomboy") and final touches really won me over quickly
benfica... that song could go on forever!!
i gotta say all the episodes were fantastic, i really loved always sunny... especially bringing back all the characters like lil kev
but the highlight of the night for me was the parks and rec previews
andy: "im typing your symptoms on this bar, and its telling me u might have a network connectivity problem" hilarious
I had very good reasons for missing the birth of my two children
1) Baking a french bread pizza
2) Forgot
Also, charlie finding all the antique stuff in the water was hilarious
