Mind Games and Watching the Wheels are both great.
Yes, that is so true. Love reading these stories!
Yes, Especially for You is pretty terrible. I was a fan of a lot of the teeny bopper britpop stuff at the time and even then it was not something I enjoyed. Loved Buffalo Stance. Did not realize she had a new album--going to check that out--thank you!
Loved New Edition, Bell Biv Devoe, etc. Every Little Step was my favorite Bobby Brown song. Glad to see Tom give it a 9. I also am baffled that it did not go to #1.
This is a lot of fun to read. So, the worldwide #1 of 1988 is "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car"? This seems perfect. I hear 1988 when I hear that song, and I mean that in the best possible way (I really like that song).
The video is working now. And it is amazing. These are my favorite kind of music videos. Thank you so much for posting this.
"If it isn't Love" is wonderful. Heard it the other day and wondered why it wasn't a bigger hit.
I had that Boys Club single. Had not thought about that song in years!
Yay! Justice for Never Gonna Give You Up!
Ever the defender of the cheesier side of 1988, I must say that "One Good Woman" is Peter Cetera's best solo song (but probably not #1 worthy) and It Would Take a Strong, Strong Man is awesome. Overall, I would say Canada had the better taste in 1988. I see that "Better Be Home Soon" hit #8 there, so there's that also!
Yes, that shocked me about Loretta Lynn also.
I wondered when someone was going to mention the Chappelle show bit.
Yes, this exactly. I did not have a lot of thoughts about "Look Away" for instance, but it was fun to see what else was being discussed.
I loved Love Song. I still have that in my streaming collection. It holds up well.
These are great! Do you do them for each year? I'll have to go back and check.
Fallen Angel is my favorite of their songs.
I agree. Love the Badfinger version.
What an awesome story! Glad to read he is a good guy.
