This is very gracious of her but she wasn't wrong to drag J Cole's corny tone-deaf ass. However, a few days of getting attacked by his awful fans was probably not pleasant.

I mean... depends on what you mean by "blame." It wasn't a great idea to bring those guns on a plane, but he certainly didn't deserve to die because of it.

The big problem here is how unfinished the album sounds. The song lengths average out to under 2.5 minutes and it's clear that very little effort was spent on actually writing them. It used to be that a Kanye West song had layers and progression from beginning to end -- but now he's just throwing out a series of half-baked ideas & calling it a day. And the focus on Christianity is unpleasant since it's either a cynical attempt to steer his image or a cry for help. The last person in the world I want to get a sermon from is fucking Kanye.

It is certainly VERY PUNK to make fun of women for being mothers and doing yoga! I definitely can't think of anything more PUNK ROCK than taking unnecessary swipes at women!

Obama and Trump aren't the same. If they were, this would be a valid objection.

HOLY SHIT Of all the random things 2018 has brought, this is one of the nicest. Stratosphere is GOAT-level lo-fi indie rock. If they release a new album that's even half as good, I'll be stoked.

I might buy Bandcamp rap as a real thing - didn't Lil Ugly Mane blow up from there? The rest of your point stands, though. Brb I'm off to create Facebook rap

This is really good. If the other parts live up to this level of quality, we're going to have something special here.

I think Whack World works very well as music without the video. I've been listening to it on repeat for a few weeks now and it's amazing. The range that she shows across these 15 minutes is incredible! I'm not sure I agree that one should imagine what it would be like if these songs were longer - the whole point is that each is a perfectly formed mini-song, getting in and out with admirable brevity. After listening to this album, most other songs just seem too long.

I'm already seeing some scorching hot takes about how people who commit suicide are shitty because they're leaving behind loved ones. Sadly, this is a common - and horrible! - response. We really need to keep in mind that clinical depression is AN ACTUAL DISEASE. It is a problem with brain architecture. We wouldn't berate someone for having diabetes, which is also a chemical imbalance, so let's have some goddamn compassion here.

That's like saying that dying of cancer is not a reflection of intelligence or empathy. Clinical depression is an actual disease. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Don't attack people suffering from a disease. Also, speaking as someone who has dealt with clinical depression: get some fucking empathy or shut up, since you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

Oh shit you're right - he's probably about to go galt. Things can always get worse in Kanyeland.

Damn. This new Platitude Kanye is almost as bad as MAGA Kanye, which is really saying something. I mean, where the fuck does he get off saying "I’m about love" when (just for one example!) he tweeted support for Candace Owens - a woman who has (a) defended neo-Nazis, (b) said that cops killing black people is unimportant, (c) described BLM as "victim mentality," and (d) has said that many sexual assaults aren't rapes but are actually just women who are "regretting" a sexual encounter (!!!!). He also invited her to his listening party in Wyoming. Get the fuck outta here with that, dude.

I think that's exactly right - Drake clearly had no idea Push was going to go nuclear and was caught wrong-footed.

Push says that he has more counterintel against Drake and I believe him. If this goes on he'll just be beating up a bloody corpse. (Not that I have any problem with that.)

It might be true that Drake is supporting Brussaux. It might also be true that he's not a deadbeat dad, or that he's not even the father of that child. But what's brilliant about Pusha's scorched-earth campaign is that Pusha framed the narrative in a way that suits him: truth and TMZ reports don't even matter now. The more Drake tries to tell a different story, the more it looks like he's struggling. This is some next-level Sun Tsu shit.

Whoa. New Quicksand song - that's insane. I saw them live a long time ago as part of an extremely 90s post-hardcore tour: Quicksand, Orange 9mm, and Sick Of It All. It was a great show, and Sick Of It All were hilarious - in between songs the frontman barked inspirational phrases in a very gruff voice ("Take care of yourselves out there!" "You're all great people!" "Be careful in the mosh pit! We don't want to see anyone get hurt!")
