In Korat Thailand (where I'm living currently) it is 9:24pm and I am the perfect level of tipsy to enjoy this album. Thank you Japandroids, perfect timeing, love you
LUH, White Lung, ANOHI, and Little Scream! (plus I still haven't fully digested those Beyonce and Drake albums). Good thing I just graduated and have nothing else to do with my life than listen to music, because this is too much good stuff at once for anyone with things to do.
Hmm confusing review. I thought you liked the album at first; "a Post-Breakthrough Freakout album of the highest order", but then you seemed pretty tough on it in that last paragraph.
For some reason I like Silver Surfer. It's just so petty that I get a hoot out of it. Low Lights on the other hand I deleted right away, the message of that song just seems superfluous seeing as he already has Ultralight Beam, and it's a minute too long.
Fair enough. And you're right RJ, Saint Pablo is too much of a tone shift after I Love Kanye, Waves works much better.
I do think it fits in nicely after Wolves though. Wolves into Silver Surfer always felt kind of weird. Wolves into Saint Pablo is a good one two punch of current Kanye mindset.
Blochead Reasoning: "I know nothing about rap, and therefore my endorsement of a rapper proves he's good". Sounds like my dad when he endorses Mumford and Sons ;)
