As a nerd, I am really happy (maybe overly so) that he appears to have web shooters instead of having the webbing shoot out of his wrist holes.
Nope, you were right the first time. It's alive: http://www.foodjapan.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=116:squid-qodori-donq&catid=62:o&Itemid=60 Also that person is a monster.
Found it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikizukuri That is horrifyingly cruel!!! Does sadism make the fish taste better?
According to foodjapan.net the squid IS alive and DOES miss its squid mother: http://www.foodjapan.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=116:squid-qodori-donq&catid=62:o&Itemid=60 This makes me sad.
This movie was the worst. I wish I could nominate the entire Farrelly Brothers' oeuvre for WMOAT, but I would be more than happy with There's Something About Mary. That movie is insanely overrated.
I too am a nerd so my dad and brother are constantly asking me if I have watched it. I find that Big Bang Theory only really goes for the low-hanging fruit of nerd stereotypes. while I don't find it completely abhorrent and I have laughed a couple of times (mostly at nerd references) I feel like it never really rises above mediocrity and sitcom tropes. The fact that it is even nominated when compared to Community is astounding. It is, as Simon Pegg says, "A mental screen-saver," (although he was referring to Friends when he made that comment).
I totally agree with Monsterbeard. Parks & Rec is the best. I disagree about Community though... even though I love that show I find that they are weakest when they try for sentimentality; To me anyway, it comes off as a little cloying.
