The minor chord changes, guitar tonality, even Ed's vocals sound very McCombsy. Definitely not a bad thing.
I'm feeling a little Cass McCombs influence on this as well. Excited to hear more.
Well, I'll move along now. Song still sucks.
Feels like a grab at the "'Video Games' of 2012" award. Next.
Or, ya know, don't be a tool and actually get one directly from the man himself. http://www.hihowareyou.com/store/shop/shirts/
I remember my first beer, too.
Soul sample+drum beat+fey vocals+2.5 minutes or less=TV Girl single. Can't wait for a whole album of this!
Straight from the horse's mouth, too.
This is pretty disappointing considering how much this was hyped up as a "grown up" record. Sounds like filler material for the next teen summer rom-com trailer.
She needs to STOP deviating from the original melody. She doesn't have the chops to improvise within the keys and make it sound good.
That's cool that she got MIA to be in the video!
Only listened to one of the albums in the top 10. Three in the top 20. 2011 is the year I no longer became a fickle music listener.
Most people aren't sitting on a goldmine.
Headline should've been "Stone Roses Need Money".
WTF was the Magpie remix all about?
Really diggin' this. Like a breath of fresh air after the more recent stagnant output.
Bad things happen when you TRY to sound like the Pixies.
I can forgive the omission of Panda Bear and Radiohead but no Cass McCombs? For shame.
Hating something without any knowledge of it is SO in nowadays. Damn kids *shakes fist*
These people fail harder than everyone on Twitter asking who Osama bin Laden is/was.
Gimme an M, gimme an E, gimme an H...all together now. I can't wait for this shit to completely play itself out.
Pretty lame. Even by Weird Al standards.
This is pretty solid. Any details on a digital release? It's always a bit ironic when electronic-based music is released on vinyl but that's a whole other story :P
I was JUST listening to Thom's track on the Flying Lotus record and thinking "I wish the new solo record just sounded like this" and I guess I got my wish.
Use the link in the email you got from pre-ordering.
"Oh Yoko!" always puts me in a better mood. Especially the harmonica madness toward the end.
They should just send instrument-playing mannequins on tour for this record. YAWNNNNNNNNN.
These embedded players NEVER work. Direct links, please for the love of god.
Why does Stereogum always have a hard on for Robyn? I don't get it at all. This is the same one who did this POS, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia2OkrWNmzE
Haha. That was probably the nicest response I've ever gotten on this blog.
How does someone this mediocre land a 40+ date tour of the world?
I don't really get the buzz on this band.
