i love when someone is in the lowest and highest in the same week. both for gifs.
lesson learned: Prince beats outdated/overused troll guy by 41 points
I really like 'Adelma'. It reminds me of something from a Brian Eno ambient record. I guess I don't see the "70s classic rock" in "Speak In Rounds" though.
Considering there's already been two articles about this, there's not much more to say. I say, the rest of this comment section should be gifs. Maybe get Palmer or Albini photoshopped in there to stay somewhat on topic.
I was trying to think of some kind of well-founded criticism/alternate order for this list but eh, it's not worth it. After all, it's Grizzly Bear...it's ALL good!
the interplay between dan and ed's voices in "What's Wrong" is especially great. i'll add the moment where Ed first enters the song as one of my favorite moments.
I don't think I'll be making any friends with this..

i think the whole "downvoted self-promotion" comments really work to the commenters advantage in a way. the more downvotes they get, the more views they'll get due to being featured in the most reliably popular segment in Stereogum. (whether thats good press or not, i don't know really..)
"If you don't like the promoter, don't be a downvoter!"
-popular slogan i just made up
Everyone has a friend who dismisses them as a Joy Division ripoff (including me). But as I became a bigger Joy Division fan, I realized there are very few concrete similarities. The voice? yes. for sure. Other than that...they're "dark" sounding? Carlos D wears his bass at thigh-level? Honestly, there are very few Interpol songs that even sound similar to Joy Division.
The Pixies have been doing the same thing, and I think it's fine. I would otherwise never get to see a great live band like them because I was born shortly before Surfer Rosa came out. I'm not too upset that they haven't rushed to the studio to put out a new album either (even though it would be pretty cool!). Perhaps some artists shouldn't push their 1990s luck (nudge nudge, Billy). Corgan obviously thinks there's something wrong with earning money by doing something you/your fans enjoy.
I feel like most of these songs could fall under Blur's most underrated...maybe? But "He thought of cars"? I dunno bout you guys, but i usually turn off The Great Escape after "The Universal".
two things:
1. because of the price, i feel that everyone there will be at least 35.
2. In relation to Michael_'s comment, anyone hear what happened to soundtown fest? http://www.soundtownfest.com/
