Wow I heard the smashin pumpkins influence but I didn't know they recorded in Iha's studio and with his guitar no less...interesting stuff.
Just like the album it was good not great. Mr. magpie wasn't very good at all translated live yet on the upside Feral sounded amazing live especially the "guitar" *wink wink* that was incorporated into the song. In my opinion it was much better than the studio version [of Feral] or should I say album version since they are technically in a studio here. Also, just like the album Bloom was my favorite of the set.
Amazing....I'm slapping you in my mind for using that word. Sorry dude these are nothing above awful.
Warning: the following has hazardously high levels of hateration, Ha! I was listening to this on some other website and thinking to myself, "wait until this goes up on stereogum everybody is going to be calling these horribly minimal tracks genius and praising Blake" but lo and behold I was wrong......thank goodness. I swear both tracks, Order especially, sounds like something you could create on a crude computer program. Tsk, tsk James. This guy has way too much talent to put out something as pathetic as these two tracks. Some things are better left far away from the light of day.
Looks like I'm gonna have to fly over there and crash Glastonbury. *enters private eco-jet*
True. I felt exactly the same way about the vocals. They're like the archetypal Thom Yorke vocals which isn't such a bad thing but I felt the melody of the song wasn't exactly the ideal milieu for that particular style of vocals.
That was quite good. I like the bass line it's super smooth. Percusion and bass is all I need.
Sounds like a mainstream band trying to go mainstream. Your already there Coldplay. You know after the abysmal lyrics and the abysmal cover art I can't say i didn't see this train-wreck coming but hell this was even worse than i expected. Brian Eno signed off on this....smh
or should I say sounded. I saw it before sony got all protective.
sounds good. like zweibel said it's hard to ruin that song but I still had my fears.
Yeah I'm gonna suck it and see if i like it now. Pause
Indeed. I find it interesting her boyfriend/bassist is presumably o.k with it. I don't know, I'd suggest she get the laser treatment but who am i to judge. Some guys insist on leaving their unibrows unified, and some woman I guess feel the same way to the ever seldom womstache. Aside from that I absolutely adore that voice of hers. So jazzy and powerful.
OMFG Odd Future are so punk! They're inciting riots! God this is like front-page everywhere .Who gives a funck? When someone gets shot then holla at me. LOL
He sampled and looped and slowed down one part...so what. Feel It All Around still sounds pretty unique to me even hearing the songs back to back. It's how you treat the sample that matters to me. he didn't abuse it he made it his own. It's not like what Swizz Beatz did for "Dr. Carter" where he practically stole the song he sampled and put his name on it: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/view/991/Lil%20Wayne-Dr.%20Carter_David%20Axelrod-Holy%20Thursday/
Wow didn't see this coming! (sarcasm)
Ha! for a second I though a real MC fan had made his/her way to stereogum. Love the "fourteen year old girl texted" look.
Yeah just watched Sonic Youth do "The Sprawl" on the website. Bummer they don't have the full set though.
Maybe not live but (maybe so.... it is Radiohead) either way it'll find it's way online.
Dude. There is no need to say fa@@ot as a lyric. I find it offensive sorry for letting words get to me. I'm radical btw
Loving it. Wasn't a huge fan of there last album but this new direction they've taken with their sound has instilled a great need in me for their new album (I might even skip mediafire and buy it lol jk).
I like this. Collabs are on the come up. First i'm blown away by Thom Yorke/Four Tet/Burial collab. Now this. Stereogum should like do a best collabs list.
Exit Music invented Muse ^ DAMN right!!! © Pimp My Ride
I like Mirror a tad bit more after the first listen through of both songs......
I like Will Do better...guess I'm just a mellow guy
I like this song it starts mellow but gets more TV On the Radio as it progresses. It's certified awmazing.
Must disagree . Down is the new up was possibly better than Faust arp but I wouldn't substitute it for anything else. on In Rainbows.
Yeah quite disappointing. Expected quite a bit more from the most showy song on the album. Also I'm the only one who finds it unnerving that he raps "I slapped my girl" on the same track as Rihanna. What is wrong with that girl to contribute after hearing that line. And it was like her reintroduction since the event too. Kanye probably gave her some "it's art" type a bullsh*t and her ignorant self probably went "Right, Right". On a whole I don't like how she's handle the situation. But that's neither here nor there. The video sucks. He got too much money to not make something epic for a song deliberately made epic. Hell I like the Heard Em' Say video more than this. Kinda like the song better too.
Fudge it........10/10. I just noticed the parallels between the reception of this and that of Kid A so to be ahead of the curve I am certifying this a classic. Ha!
So I guess...the official rating would be 9.3
Better....hmmm..... That's an epic debate you've set up, but this is about KOL so I leave it alone.smal (smirking a little....it's about time for an alternative to lol cause usually I'm not out loud)
Alright, listened to it like 15 times and my opinion is......great. You can't deny the technical prowess of the album. However, the length is a problem for me as well as the subtleness. So far no track is on particular repeat and I miss the guitars(electric), they are treated more like accessories to the atmospheric background instead of up front like on "Weird Fish". Look whether or not they release another set of songs this is an album. Releasing another album isn't going to make this album any better than it is so why don't we try judging it based on what it is and not what we foresee it might be. As a standalone album (looking at it as if it were Radiohead's first or only album) I give it a 9.6 Taking in account all that Radiohead has done before this I give it a 9.0 My opinion save the hate.
In Rainbows collides with Amnesiac and forms KOL. Kid A was the opposite side of the emotional spectrum.
Oh come on, do you think Thom Yorke would waist a line like that on teasing possible b-sides (yeah b-sides)
lol There are also two Green"woods" in the band.
