Just to clarify, I wasn't speaking specifically about this review with the P4K comment, I just meant that SG tends to be much more accepting and open-minded when it comes to things/albums like this....IMO, of course.
This review, just like the Miranda Lambert review a while back, is exactly why Stereogum is the best. I would have written this album off in fear of losing my indie-cred, but after reading this thoughtful and interesting take on the album I'm willing to take a shot with it. P4K this site is not, and that's precisely why I love it so much. Good work.
PS. In Our Heads is still better though :)
I'm crazy excited to finally listen to this album, but I'm a little bit saddened that they're touring with F+TM this summer....no way I'm springing for $60 lawn seats.
I'm not sure how Raptor's post would have watered-down your recap at all, if anything it made your writing style look more polished in comparison.
I might be in the minority here, but I could care less about the quality of writing when it comes to a festival recap. I don't need Pitchforkian syntax to help me understand that the weekend was great, just use interesting descriptors and help me understand what it felt like to be there. That's all.
