Do you really expect anyone to be able to contain themselves when it comes to this pun?
"The joke is that they are singing, so why does the song need to be funny?!" - Seth McFarlane, every day at work.
Also someone needs to inform Mitt Romney that the one strand of hair he always has combed over to where his hairline was when he was 25 is not fooling anybody.
Come on, be fair. He does at least have a point. Oh wait, no he doesn't. Just an asshole.
He already has, my friend. He already has.
More like, what is satisfied and not very surprised?
I miss the hatred in Trebeks eyes during the final run of Ken Jennings. Nothing will ever be more enjoyable to watch ever, until they make the Jeopardy movie where Ken Jennings is the villain. More about my screenplay later, though.
Holy fuck, is Alex Trebek seriously 71 years old? Was his mothers bracelet dipped in the fountain of youth?
It was Trebeks own fault. Burt just wanted his hat back. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/33770/funnyhat_medium.jpg
So much for the optimism that this show would gain it's stride/find it's place/whatever showbiz people call it for when a show goes from sucking to not sucking in season 2, but this re-affirms my secret fear that it will probably be more of the same drawn out, horribly written silliness.
You bite your tongue. How can you NOT enjoy the concept of 3 12-15 year old kids who were pro level at skateboarding, snowboarding, ice, roller, and field hockey, roller blading, surfing, soccer, football, BMX, mountain climbing, pogo-sticking, freestyle walking, and mostly any other XXXXTreme sport that you could think of. THAT is entertainment.
I didn't even think of this, but I'm definitely going to bring it up to my friends and then take all of the credit for it.
^^^ I'm not saying that TKOL is better/as good/on par than Kid A. Just squashing that shit storm now.
You contradicted your original argument so badly right here: "Leave the experimental electronics to those whom do it best" but then: "Kid A is quite possibly my favorite and that is arguably the most experimental" !?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!? P.S: I think the most frustrating part about this album's release is that people who haven't liked Radiohead since they were a straightforward rock band finally got a straightforward rock album with In Rainbows. They were expecting them to keep going in that direction, and in true Radiohead fashion, they didn't. It's just Kid A all over again but with more space on the internet to bitch about it.
I swear this band used to have a set of testicles... what happened? Where did we go wrong?
I'm goin with Commodores. Also, you guys know Flaming Lips are from Oklahoma, right?
You should check out the Teletubbies OST, as well. "Ice Cream" might even be on there. But yeah, this album is decent. Not quite as enjoyable to me as Mirrored but still not bad.
Don't mock. This is a very real problem that happens to people world wide and causes thousands of phone calls from moms who saw your accidental bong shot on Facebook per day.
Is anyone else getting a Joaquin Phoenix vibe off of this whole situation?
Also, it's nobody's fault but your own that you paid 50 dollars for a deluxe version of an album that you had never heard before. You can't make a gut purchase like that and then whine when it's not up to your ultimate judging criteria. It's funny how entitled people are these days...
Why exactly do you think it sounds like a Thom solo album? I keep hearing this and it's so annoying. This album is much warmer and organic than The Eraser or Pulled Apart by Horses... it's like the people saying "is Johnny even still in the band?" Have you listened to Radiohead since OK Computer came out? Have you ever heard Kid A? Since when does Johnny only play guitar? It's not news that Johnny chooses to work with soundscapes and synths as opposed to shredding solos... All the OK Computer fans that never got over the switch got spoiled by In Rainbows' rockability and were apparently hoping that Radiohead furthered that sound so that they just turned into boring, boring rock music.
Ugh. Image embed failure. http://www.mediabistro.com/agencyspy/files/2010/11/george_costanza_jerk_store.jpg
Gotta love the "I don't care how many people like it, it's not good because I don't like it" argument.
One of the dumbest comments I've ever heard on the internet. And the internet is pretty dumb. (keep in mind that's aimed at your comment about it just being a version of James Blake. If you can't get into it, thats just a matter of taste).
Don't let the 8 tracks fool you, you can tell they put so much work into it. It's perfectly layered.
King of Limbs > In Rainbows As far as Feral goes, it's pretttttttttty awesome. I know it's not the most complex in terms of song writing but it's really well layered and just badass.
I'm glad someone said this. Why does Stereogum even still cover Weezer's nonsense shenanigans. We've given them 4 (5 if you consider the Green Album bad... I think its tolerable) albums to make a comeback and it never happened. Although part of me still expects Rivers to utter "GOTCHA!" on his death bed right before he takes his dying breath.
Thats funny because when I saw Wheatus live at a tiny club in my hometown, the running joke of the show once they took the stage was, "so when does Weezer play?"
It's understandable that you're bitter for not liking a band that everyone else seems to like, but don't ruin it for everyone else. "Good" music is subjective, don't be a fucking dick.
I totally agree. I saw this dude with Caribou and I was not very impressed, but came home to find out that he's actually getting a large amount of internet buzz. Good for him, I guess.
Also, I really hate this attitude. I hate when people say stuff like "oh this song is bad on purpose" or "this movie is really cheezy and poorly done on purpose. It's irony!" I appreciate irony as much as the next guy, but if I were a die hard MIA fan and she came out with a song that was shitty on purpose just to make a statement on pop music, she would be minus one fan.
Time for me to jump on the train. Even though I never really cared for MIA very much more than admitting that on a good day, she can have some pretty catchy/creative/clever songs, I've always wondered why everyone thought she was so great. This song and its reaction make me even more confused, because I honestly do not see that much of a difference between this song and any of her others other than a little bit slicker production. Oh well. Guess I'll just go listen to my emo shit because this song is snoozeville.
Bummer. We were all waiting on pins and needles for your verdict too. How does it feel to know that your massive amount of influence will inevitably ruin this band's career?
Is it just me or is Sufjan Stevens extremely under-utilized in this song? I feel like when you get someone of his status and talent that its almost a waste to have him just standing there singing the same vocal harmony over and over again. This song is amazing, but i just feel like Sufjan barely contributes to the song.
This song is cool, but what the fuck is that video?
I'm sure that second set was meant to say april 6th... in which case Paperbag Writer is missing from the set. Right before Judge, Jury, and Executioner, if I remember correctly.
