I think its pretty obvious, for Stereogum at least, that even if the artist/band is "mainstream" or "indie", if they feel like they made great albums they will get attention. In other words, no matter what the format, quality triumphs.
Yeah... The best part for me, though, is that no matter what the format, quality triumphs. Both albums are great, and their financial success will encourage more stuff like GKMC and Red flood the pipeline. You know what I mean? That just my opinion though.
OOHHHH WHERE'S THE BEEEF??? Seriously, though. Where is it?
this is totally gonna change the music streaming world! just like Google+ did for social networking!
Bob Mould records from Worst to Best.... GO!
i mean, music changes pretty consistly by nature, right?
Did music really change that much after 9/11?
off topic but... Jay-Z owns one fifteenth of one percent of the Nets. Can we do a list of Teams/Musicians collaborations that we'd like to see?
definitely going on the top 10 list at the end of the year
this is great! now if only we could get some juicy gossip about these aussies!
spending more time on old stereogum now instead of current. thanks, locke.
Didn't Stereogum post stories about him being somewhat of a baby? Whining about Lana del Rey getting to play Jools Holland before Girls? and a comment-er mentioned a story about him bitching at a high school newspaper or something for giving him bad reviews? Seems like the "REST IN PEACE" mentality is a little overboard since we don't know his reasons for leaving. Could be something really childish.
whenever i heard "once in a lifetime" as a kid, i always thought it was robin williams. robin williams as david byrne.
"There is no possible way that Coachella could sell out. Just because At The Drive-In is playing, i mean, who didnt see that one coming!? Two weekends... absolutely no way it could sell out" -Timothy Green's comment. Posted on Thursday night.

yeah yeah yeah Dr. Dog! and Damian Jurado. Didnt they both have recent singles that were "Stereogum Premiers" ???
The Mars Volta (pretty much) played in '11 as Omar Rodriguez Lopez group. They even played new material from the their upcoming album, supposedly. But ATDI would be pretty rad.
i think we can look back at all of the "top 50" lists to generate a majority of the line up headliners? jay-z in '10, kanye in '11, i guess the throne in '12 would make sense?? also we cant forget the rolling stones rumors from last year (which might make more sense this year, as its their 50th anniversary)... stone roses would be kind of a big deal... no doubt? and of course this year they have to try to sell out TWO weekends in a row, and seeing as though roger waters relaunched another leg of The Wall... rumors rumors rumors
