Really though, musical theater/movie adaptations of musical theater would be much improved by the addition of drag queens. (Not just sayin' that 'cause Jujubee's my icon.)
Watching MST3K together was my first date with my boyfriend, because we are both emotionally-closed off nerds. We've been together almost 5 years and in that time have spoken almost exclusively in MST3K quotes.

I'm really grateful you led into this story by bringing up Long Island Medium. While I've never actually watched it, I am from LI (also known as "Strong Island," to preteen girls in the early '90s) and an acquaintance of mine is going to be on it! I think it's to talk to her dead grandpa, though. :(
More on topic: I'm such a scaredy-cat that I'm literally just scared by stuff filmed in night vision. So I don't think I'll be watching this, even if it is just people freaking out alone in empty houses.
Is it creepy to ask for your Goodreads name? I'm on that site way more than I should be. Agreement that the giveaway books ship super, super slowly.
Also, I'm sorry to hear about the project ending, but you seem to have a good bunch of fun things (writing! dog walks! reading!) to look forward to. I was unemployed last year for a bit, and then underemployed for the rest of the year, and so I know how weird/nice it is to have more time than you have money.
I am in such awe of your blingee mastery. I made one once, of my college-age brother and his friends surrounded by holiday knickknacks, and I posted it on his Facebook thinking it was the most hilarious thing ever, and no one commented. :( So now here I am, commenting on yours and letting you know that I appreciate it.

One of my best brushes ("brushes") with fame was when Lev Grossman, author of The Magicians, asked me if I was named after Taran from Taran Wanderer. (Since my name actually is Taryn.) I was sad to have to tell him no.

I'm the oldest of my group of cousins, and so became the unofficial leader when we were all kids. Obviously I loved the power and prestige this gave me among them, but they were also exhausting. So I instituted a "game" called Quiet Time that was almost exactly what ptsmith_vt described: sitting and reading in silence. (You could also draw or color, QUIETLY.) It was amazing. Even more amazing was that my cousins actually "played" this game with me for years after they should have known better!
