Before they played MSG Arcade Fire were just another Montreal band trying to catch a break. This footage shows Arcade Fire playing a Montreal houseparty in 2002, two years before Funeral was released. In this video they’re playing “My Heart Is An Apple,” a song that appeared on their 2003 self-titled EP. RĂ©gine Chassagne has tiny pigtails. And if you look closely, it definitely looks like Clues/Unicorns member Alden Penner is thoughtfully watching the band from the front row. Watch it at Youtube.

The Alden Penner siting is amazing. That alone makes this video gold.
This is great. The party looks terrible though.
Points for having a hand saw as a wall hanging.
