So far you’ve heard “Home Is A Fire,” “Codes And Keys,” and “You Are A Tourist.” Now get a taste of the third track from Death Cab For Cutie’s upcoming LP Codes And Keys:
Codes and Keys is out 5/31 via Atlantic.
Not gonna lie, I just about yawned…
I love this. I completely dig the new sound. This will probably be amazing live.
This is great, I’d say the best I have heard so far.
In my humble opinion this is the best of the track’s we’ve heard.
I love this. DCFC continues to get better & better. I dig most of their CD’s, old-new. They kill live, just spot on, always a great show. Every track so far from Codes hits the mark. Keep up the good work guys.
Maybe the best heard from the last stuff… but in my honest opinion it’s very far from the photo album and transatlanticism songs.
The first 2 mins sound like a song idea demo, and a pretty weak one at that. There’s some really good writing in the last 45 seconds, but I can’t understand why they didn’t work in the payoff earlier, it could’ve been a good song if they actually assembled it as one. Also, the overdrive/compression that’s so chic right now just doesn’t work on Gibbard’s vocals.
Becoming increasingly less excited for the release :(
im not so sure of this
loving the new direction
i dig this. “Tourist” was too sugary and simple but i’ll certainly be giving the rest of the record a listen.
Is it just me, or is the bouncy bass with whatever effect that is, combined with the tom-heavy, bouncy drums, a bit reminiscent of “Peacebone”?
