
This year’s Record Store Day continued the tradition of being a candyland for limited-edition LP collectors and also a clearinghouse for bands wanting to support the local vinyl economy while also monetizing the b-sides lining their vaults. Yeasayer seized the Day and “releas[ed] these two tracks to purge our brains and make way for new sounds/ideas” on a 7″ they titled, tellingly, End Blood. Of a piece with their Odd triumphs and a line in the sand distinguishing that phase and what’s to follow, here are “Swallowing The Decibels” and “Phoenix Wind”:

well since Yeasayer is so much better than CEG, I think its okay
Stop your bickering, who cares when the song has such a breezy, eazy groove like this. Beautiful stuff, especially for another chilly night here on the east coast : )
