We enjoyed it mightily when Matthew Houck, aka Phosphorescent, added his “Little Boxes” to the Weeds canon. He also does something worth the while with Nick Cave’s “Right Now I’m A-Roaming.” Houck’s hushed rendition removes the swagger of the original, but he manages to infuse it with enough hoarse, on-the-road grit to save it from becoming just another saccharine folk tune. You can take a listen at MySpace (via PTW), and please note that this accompanying photo is Houck a-roaming at Stonehenge last month. (Speaking of the Ancients, Cave is still roaming, looking hella intense during that fateful “Night Of The Lotus Eaters.”)
