I haven't listened to FJM, so I can't comment on his music, but he seems like a pretty smart, self-aware guy. I will say however that your point about his fans being obnoxious dudebros is very true. The guy who bullied me all through college is the biggest FJM fan I know. Interestingly enough he's good friends with Shehzaad from Greys, who also bullied me in school. Hipsters are the worst people in the world.
I know you guys have to put a positive spin on every track you post, and I know it can be tough sometimes as I have to do similar stuff myself. And I know it must have been hard writing that huge, well-written paragraph about this trite piece of work that can be summed up as "repetitive drivel". eeeeeeeverybody loves you. eeeeeeeeeverybody loves you. SO BORING.
I guess this vindicates Limp Bizkit then and you have to love them because come on otherwise you're on the side of a conspiracy nut.
oh man, that i wanna get better cover is hot, stinky garbage. they took the worst trend in modern pop music (the anti-chorus) and applied it to a song that NEEDS a big chorus to stay afloat.
Yeah I was wondering that too, like how do you poison someone on the spot before robbing them? Do these thieves carry around a blow dart with them? Or a Nidoran?
The only cover I'm looking forward to hearing is "This Love". The best song off 1989 and hugely underrated. I've never even seen it mentioned on any website...I'm beginning to think this song only exists in my head.
Uhm, I've been saying this for years now! There are no big names any more. Music is dead. The idea of big bands and hit songs and music's popularity in general is on the decline. That's why reading all these Anniversary posts makes me sad, because there aren't any artists right now who are creating exciting, hyped albums that will be remembered in 10 years. Kids nowadays don't have any Sufjans, Death Cabs, Nationals, CYHSYs, Bright Eyeses.
What's with the Cold War Kids jab? It's not even correct considering they're more popular than they've ever been now. Their last two albums are really really strong records, and now they're finally getting the radio play they deserve. Now CYHSY, opposite story. Great debut, two decent follow-ups...then that 2014 album which was one of the worst of last year.
we like to eat at benihana we are the new americana we like st. vincent and rihanna we are the new americana did u hear paul hooked up with shauna we are the new americana
Country House is my favorite Blur song. A+++ will listen to 18 times in a row now.
It's no "Real is a Feeling"...but it's okay. Definitely better than anything on that new HEALTH album.
This isn't just my favorite Death Cab album, but my favorite album of all time. Ever. Out of everything. It's the only album that I can listen to from beginning to end. And it's kind of sad that DCFC (or anyone else) will never make a record like this ever again.
"When I first heard that Ryan was going to be covering my entire album, I couldn’t believe it. He's a really special guy, I admire him so much. He's so talented and creative and unique and nice. This whole thing is so nice." As someone who has seen this sort of situation before, I guarantee you TayTay is friendzoning RyRy hard. Her reactions are exactly that of a girl who thinks this is really sweet of Adams, but is just not "into" him.
i don't think anybody wants to make good music ever again.
Yeah and as much as I enjoy Adams' music, this is kind of embarrassing. Not even that he's recording it, but the constant faux-excited updates and gushing about the quality of the songs, some of which are not very good (...the praise for Out of the Woods is unmerited). I'm still looking forward to at least a few of these covers but the tweets scream ulterior motive. I know a "Nice Guy" who pulls this kind of stuff all the time.
"Like 10 years ago could you ever picture Miley Cyrus talking about her gender fluidity and having her tits out?" .....no, because she was 12 years old in 2005.
YES X 1000000. Wonderful song.
I didn't read what O' Connor said specifically, but music IS dead. Every new song that comes out nowadays follows at least one of five terrible trends: 1. Analog/lo-fi/"back to basics" sound 2. Unconventional song structure 3. Anti-climactic choruses 4. Monogenre 5. Late '80s influenced sound This song's obviously gone with # 5, and is all the worse for it. Their debut was so great, one of the best of 2013, and they're throwing that sound away to fit in with the cool kids. Go and listen to the new Kate Boy song (another formerly amazing band) and try and tell the difference. It's gotten to the point where I'm dreading new releases from all my favorite artists because the chance that they'll avoid all five of these pitfalls is incredibly slim. The ONLY record so far in 2015 that's been any good is Florence + The Machine's new album, and even that has a bunch of formless clunkers on there. But today's lower standards means that if a record has at least two good pop songs on it, it's an A in my books.
