i can't believe they didn't call it Bed of Rosés
2/2 for me now. I know it's not clicking with everyone, and that's fine! But I love it all so far.
Tops was released last week, and last week's AOW (Elder) is placed above Tops here.
I'm on the side of "I really love that Big Thief record and it would for sure make my list if I made one but that doesn't mean it has to be included here."
Well, you see, multiple really good albums can all come out in the same week, and all of those albums can be better than another week's AOW...
in all seriousness, though, pretty solid list and lots i still need to listen to.
I find your lack of Big Thief disturbing.
this song is gorgeous, and so perfectly Rostam. he looks so happy in the video, too. i'll obviously miss him as a member of VW, but think it's pretty clear this was the best move for him.
probably should not have listened to that at work. goddamn.
Flourish and a Spoil was my favorite record of 2015. This doesn't disappoint - love these guys.
So glad they're talking so openly about this, and even more glad they're doing what's best for their health.
1. Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial 2. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool 3. Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam - I Had A Dream That You Were Mine 4. Frank Ocean- Blonde 5. Beyonce - Lemonade 6. Yeah, it just seems like "let anyone hear it or buy it via any service so number of listeners is literally infinite" still outweighs "15 million + good marketing." I mean even here, any time there's an Apple Music/TIDAL/whatever exclusive, a good percentage of the comments are people lamenting that they don't have (and don't want!) a subscription to that particular service. Those are all people who would be listening if it wasn't an exclusive but aren't.
Isn't an exclusive with just one streaming service inherently NOT "the best position for the most people to hear it?"
i'll wait to vote until after i hear the frank ocean album tomorrow
