I would agree to that, yeah Out is mostly to blame for this (don't really give any credence or clout to anyone willing to give Milo Y. any sort of platform). This statement from him still has him trying to remain innocent in all of this. The whole thing seems really misguided, one of those times where a bunch of statements went thru multiple people's filters and nobody stopped and said "well this seems kind of wrong".
At the same time I appreciate his wanting to work with queer artists, but when it comes to straight and/or cis people making art that appeals to queer folks I usually take a pass. I'd rather invest time/energy to someone who has experience in what the heck they're talking about.
It's incredibly insensitive to use the livelihoods of others as performance fodder or because you're straight and want to wear nailpolish sometimes and are afraid of what yr buddies say. It's open and transparent queer-baiting.
Hey, Person from NC Here
Mumford and Sons and Jimmy Buffett actually did not cancel their performances. In fact M&S made a public statement saying they would still perform and give profits to charity. Just wanted to help clear that up.
Don't stagedive. Got kicked in the head at a Fucked Up concert by some right bastard who just disrupted the whole show. Just mosh. It's kind of weird that moshing at this point has become a safer, more welcome act than stagediving.
I can understand not liking the new songs as much as the older ones but I think the amount of downright hatred towards this album/the EPs is extraordinary and kind of uncalled for. A guy who works at a record store near me hated it and said "there weren't any riffs on it". Were we listening to the same album? Hmm.
Wesley makes a good point: what if this album has the greatest music of their career and it's blanketed by this fucking terrifyingly bad album cover. We just don't know. I wouldn't put it past YYY to pull something like that.
