I built a large portion of my music collection by buying used CDs. Mostly filling in gaps. But you just made me understand something I never got before. I always wondered "Why is great stuff like My Bloody Valentine and Stereolab and Tortoise just sitting here? How come nobody has snapped these things up yet?"

I love Frankie Rose and all, but why release a video now for a single that came out eight months ago? Also, I get the connection between "Know Me" and the retinal-scan identification thing here (I think), but if you're going to take the trouble to make a "futuristic", "sci-fi" video, shouldn't you make sure that at least one interesting thing happens in said video? Still love the song!

"Great rack" is my favourite typo today. "Bikini hill" is a close second. It helps if you picture Beth Ditto while reading them.

Skrillex doesn't need anyone to defend him. He's doing fine. I've seen him live, and while I wasn't nearly as impressed as tom was, I don't see any reason to hate on the guy. FFTL was an okay band, too.

I would count the Beatles one as being a "record label" shoe, given that it features the Apple Corps logo so prominently.

Hi Brandon. I feel like a dumbass doing this in a comment but I'm not sure how to contact you otherwise. I have some music I'd like you to hear. It's dark dream pop led by a very accomplished female vocalist (lots of favorable comparisons to Liz Fraser et al). The songs are all about disasters and the band resides in the rainiest city on the continent. I'd like to give you a link to check it out without spamming everybody who reads these comments.

My guess is that Interpol is still a band because there are still people who want to see them play. Probably the same people who think the band is still making worthwhile music. Don't like it? Don't buy a ticket.

I don't know who Ray Cappo is, but I'm pretty sure the phrase "Hardcore will never die" originated in the hardcore-techno scene, and I guess the Mogwai title is a play on that.
