Also, Grinderman is still a thing? I guess Nick's commitment to his musical projects melts in the face of a double payday.
Surprised they didn't book the long awaited Mars Volta reunion.
I went to a free Converse show earlier this year here in Brisbane - Royal Headache and Kitchen's Floor in a boxing ring - and after that one I'm pretty sure Converse don't give a fuck what happens as long as people talk about it. They gave everyone free beer for 1.5 hours before the show, people were apparently doing coke off the windowsills, and a mosh pit surrounding a boxing ring with broken glass on the floor is a nightmare. No Age taking some pot shots at the company just 'proves' that Converse books the real edgy bands, even if it's to their own detriment because they care about the music, man. They were playing in the first place and that's all Converse wanted. And hey, free Stereogum feature. No Age probably got a bonus.
Lordy, that's like the Merriweather Post Pavilion of ass.
Album: Liars - WIXIW Song: The Music Tapes - 'Playing Evening' Music video: Night Beds - 'Even If We Try' New act: Ed Schrader's Music Beat Crushing on: Mike Hadreas (Perfume Genius) and Ruth Radelet (Chromatics) My actually-favourite album this year was Cats On Fire but I sticking to stuff covered on the 'gum.
Have you seen the album art? There's the beef.
Aww yeah, got myself tickets to see Godspeed in Brisbane and then again at ATP in Melbourne with My Bloody Valentine, Swans and The Drones (who are revered here in Aus as much as the others are internationally). I might never have to go to any concert ever again.
From what I understand of his schedule that's gonna have to be a 2 minute wet-wipes rubdown in the college bathroom. If he washes at all, maybe his pungent musk is all part of the charm.
In other news, just looked up this album on Wikipedia and the page was deleted as a 'non-notable music release', what the fuckipedia. Thee Oh Sees should be crazy famous, I don't get it.
I like this a lot. Very light and breezy, different again from the two albums last year. The slower songs are so great, Thee Oh Sees with strings and flutes, love it. Gonna sing 'Wicked Park' to my sleepy kid one day.
Was it good for you?
You can't 'indeed' yourself dude that's illegal.
You guys I hacked the stream and got a live video feed: http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo90/aryador/bongo.gif
Lunchtime Monday in Australia, gonna try and keep the air-bongos to a minimum so I don't get kicked out of the office.
He was 22? Damn, I'm 22 and my greatest accomplishment in life so far is knowing all the words to 'Let's Not Shit Ourselves'. I think I need to aim higher.
No way, they both look great! Although yeah, I'll admit Zola Jesus occasionally goes overboard with the hair dye... http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_rxEZyPDe7sg/TUYE9eDXVeI/AAAAAAAAASI/pwzHV3i4PEo/s400/zola-jesus.jpg
Great vid and a great album. Psyched to catch them at Splendour next week.
Hey, Frank, you didn't put my kid on the field. You're a piece of shit. You know what I'm talking about, you fucking soccer coach.
Brisbane's finest on Stereogum again yeaaaaaaaaahh! For some more leery goodness an ex-Slug Gut now plays in White Hex and they released a new vid yesterday and it's great, check it: http://vimeo.com/43821701
To post an image just have the direct link by itself on a new line. Basically what you had the first time without the [IMG] tags. http://againstlineofdance.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/themoreyouknow.jpg
You got it, it was a Kingsguard knight supposedly on Tyrion and Joffrey's team, which is why Tyrion was just looking at him. Unnamed in the show I think, but in the books it's Mandon Moore.
Digging it a little bit first time around, but I've got a feeling this one is a grower. 'Brats' is so great.
Pretty disappointed by the lack of Eurovision coverage this week. They've even got Albanian Grimes! http://i.imgur.com/wpRhc.jpg

Well isn't this just the loveliest thing.
I've got tickets to see them here in Australia at the very end of their tour. By the time they get all the way down here in November I'm expecting some ultra-deep cuts, or the Sesame Street theme song or something.
Why can't I reply to freshie? No button :( Anyway cool, I've misunderstood a little and made my point in slightly the wrong place. I've got no problems with the actual writing of it and I'm glad this thing is now a thing. Hopefully the well-reasoned comments outshine the rest in the end. Also world peace and a new OutKast album.
And that's exactly where it falls over for me. I love Grimes because she made an ace record of music that I find exciting and, at times, beautiful. The author is trying to tell me that I love Grimes because she exists as a personification of the online/offline gap, a gap that so confuses me, and she is a pure white guiding light in the grey haze of asexuality and the self-referential loops of cyber culture, a false siren that will desert me forever when the Santigold album drops. Occam's razor anyone?

He probably scores more though #SPORTSJOKES
It was the St Jerome's Laneway Festival, which started in Melbourne and spread around Australia, to New Zealand and now Singapore. It's a great festival and it's double great that Singapore gets a slice.
Are you ok dude?
"Woah, that's much bigger than I thought it would be." - Me after posting this photo/going inside the TARDIS. Sorry guys!
JV is such a joker, pulling a Lady Gaga showing up in costume like that... http://onceuponageek.com/images/matt-smith-costume3.jpg
I love the last three pics all together. It looks like Neil Young is saying something amazingly racist to A$AP Rocky and R. Kelly at a party.
Drink it Michael Musto.
UPDATE: Turns out Chris would like to clarify that his comments were directed at the soundcheck people and not Kanye: http://twitter.com/chriscornell On the plus side, at least it seems like they are buddies. On the minus side, it made a large part of my previous comment totally irrelevant. Also, Soundgarden vs Soundguys isn't going to get nearly as many pageviews, is it? Way to go Chris, you jerk!
Oh my gosh, it's my moment! Time to step up as Australian correspondent, I was there and this is what happened: Facts: The two main stages are side-by-side and alternate. Soundgarden were playing and then as soon as they finished Kanye was supposed to start next door. What Chris was complaining about was Kanye's soundcheck, which was bleeding over onto the Soundgarden stage loud enough for the band (and some of the crowd) to hear. That's when and why he made the 'retarded children' call. After they finished Kanye was supposed to start straight away but was 45 minutes late. It had rained heavily for a while just before, and it looked like they had to rearrange a bunch of the speakers on the stage. Kanye eventually showed up, apologised for being late, played way over time to make up for it, generally killed it. Opinion: Having Kanye's soundcheck mess with the Soundgarden show is pretty shitty, but calling another artist's music 'retarded children' is also pretty shitty. He almost definitely didn't mean it that way but it was still shitty. Also, kind of bizarre considering Chris did that godawful stuff with Timabaland but still apparently can't understand Kanye West? Oh well. They are playing together at least twice more in Sydney and Melbourne so stay tuned you guys!
