That's the line I didn't get at all either.
So you called what he did rape but he's not a rapist? So someone murdered another person but that doesn't make him/her a murderer? Or someone committed identity theft but he/she isn't a identity thief?
Dumb, dumb, dumb statement.
Why are people saying "Do It, Try It" was such a left turn?
It's definitely different than what M83 has put out before but without knowing who it was I thought it was a M83 song when I heard it. I don't get people essentially freaking out about it.
The startling amount of times I've listened to "Random Name Generator" by Wilco since it's release would make it a top one for me.
But "Good Times..." is going to win, and I'm not really upset with that.
Went to Bonnaroo the summer I turned 21; it was an awesome experience partly because I went with a bunch of people I knew and liked and partly because the lineup was full of bands I loved. Weather was fantastic too. But looking back, it was literally a 4 day excuse to get way too fucked up without consequence (though listening to Local Natives while throwing a frisbee around under the influence of several substances will qualify as one of the top 5 most calming and euphoric experiences of my life).
IF I was going with those same people (and maybe a few others), I'd consider going again but honestly, I just don't want to ruin the image I have of Bonnaroo. Not to mention paying less money and being able to sleep in my own bed/shower and seeing one show suits me just fine.
It's nothing incredible or groundbreaking but being from one of my favorite bands, it's probably one of the albums I'll wind up listening to the most from this year. Solid album.
Well outside of Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, the National have had 4 good to superb albums come out in the last 15 years. That's a pretty great track record that I don't think any other band can match over the same time, to be honest.
I'm all for confidence and when The Killers are on, they can make some fantastic stuff. But best band of the last 15 years?
The Walkmen? Wilco? The National? Radiohead? Arcade Fire? LCD Soundsystem?
I don't know what album is more devastating so far this year, this or Bjork's latest.
I absolutely love both. It's nice to see with all the crap going around in the world we can get a pretty fucking fantastic year for music thus far.
Haven't been that impressed with this or "Alien Days" but they're decent.
I know they're not trying to appease anyone, but I'd be immensely happy with an album filled with songs similar to "Weekend Wars", "Congratulations", "The Youth", "The Handshake" etc etc. That's where their strength is.
I'm sorry, but selling tickets to a show where, up until a while AFTER the show was supposed to start, people still think that it's a normal show and then purposely not showing up and calling it "art" is douchebaggery to the nth level.
I do like their music, but I'll be downloading it and not going to their shows. If you can't treat your supporters with respect, they don't deserve any either.
My NiN experience was always limited to Downward Spiral and The Slip, but I'm gonna have to listen to his stuff more (always liked Reznor's collabs with Ross a little more). But this song is awesome.
Pretty good, but not deserving of the hype it's gotten (but albums rarely are). I do like the 'new' sound though. Funky as fuck.
And am I the only one who's in love with "Doin' in Right"? I think it's one of the stronger songs on the album but all it seems to get is hate from the comments I've read here. It's summer drive-with-the-windows-down at night music if I've ever heard it.
