Jerry Ferrara, the actor who portrays the character Turtle on the television show Entourage, would like to ease everyone’s fears that he might be leaving the show to pursue other projects. Relax everyone, please. Mr. Ferrara has no intentions of abandoning the beloved role of a marijuana smoking sneaker collector who sometimes drives a Hummer that has meant so much to so many people all around the world. He’s not that SELFISH. From the LA Times (via WarmingGlow):
“This year for the character is all about business,” Ferrara said. “He starts his own business — a limo company. Beautiful women driving the limos. It’s actually a great idea. I’m gonna do it in real life!”
As for the rumors there might be an “Entourage” movie coming after the show’s conclusion, Ferrara says he’s just as in the dark as we are. But he’d be game to act in a film.
“It’s a little early to tell. I hear the same thing,” he said. “And the minute I heard it, I told everyone, ‘I’m in.’ I’ll do this forever.”
Oh phew. He’s in! Look, we should all be so lucky as to find work in this economy. And Jerry Ferrara’s continued enthusiasm for a dopey character that stopped being interesting to watch, much less play, 7 years ago is almost admirable. In the way that Sisyphus is admirable. When Sisyphus tries to launch his record producing career using his best friend’s seed money. But, you know, DUH. Of course he will do this forever. What else is he going to do? Act?
