At this late date, it shouldn't be a surprise when pop stars solicit collaborations or remixes from underground types, but there's still something unexpected and weirdly wonderful about the news that UK dance-pop nerd kings Hot Chip have remixed "Chained To The Rhythm," the comeback single that Katy Perry released last month. Hot Chip haven't reworked the song too radically; they've kept its melodies intact and turned it into a burbling six-minute house jam. In any case, it's nice to know that Perry's devotion to synthpop goes beyond her new bleach-blonde asymmetrical haircut. Listen to it below, via Pitchfork.
